So I finally got this cream egg chair cushion for my backyard swing, and honestly? It’s been a game-changer for my little outdoor retreat. I’ve had a few different cushions before that just didn’t cut it, but this one feels like the real deal.
The style is pretty versatile – I was worried it might clash with my somewhat eclectic patio setup, but the cream color actually ties everything together really nicely. It works with my rustic-ish furniture and even the more modern pieces I’ve picked up over the years. Kind of gives the whole space a more put-together vibe without trying too hard, you know?
What really sold me was the waterproof feature. Living in a place where it rains unexpectedly (and I’m terrible at bringing cushions inside), this has been such a relief. The high-density polyester material actually does what it claims – I left it out during a surprise shower last weekend and it dried super fast with no gross dampness or smell. It’s held up pretty well to the sun too, which is saying something since my previous cushions faded within a month.
The thickness is no joke – we’re talking 5 inches of what they call “high-resilience PP cotton.” Whatever it is, it’s comfier than my actual couch, to be fair! The padding is substantial enough that you don’t feel the frame of the chair underneath, which was always my biggest complaint with cheaper cushions. I can actually sit out there for hours now with my coffee and a book without getting that achy back feeling.
Cleaning has been pretty straightforward too. My dog jumped up with muddy paws the other day (thanks, buddy), but it wiped right off with a damp cloth. For anything more serious, they say you can hand wash or spot clean it, but I haven’t had to do that yet.
I got this as a treat-myself gift, but I’m already thinking it would make a great present for my mom who’s always out on her patio. The quality feels like it’ll last, and it’s got that nice balance of looking fancy without being too precious, if that makes sense?
Size-wise, it’s about 48 x 24 x 5 inches, which fits my standard egg chair perfectly. It weighs around 4.5 pounds – light enough to move around easily but not so light that it feels cheap or flimsy.
One thing I didn’t expect – it was a bit flattened from shipping, but after shaking it out and giving it a day or two, it fluffed up nicely. Oh, and the underside has this slight texture that keeps it from sliding around on the chair, which is a small detail but makes a huge difference.
