I just got these pet stairs for my little Yorkie, and honestly, they’ve been a game-changer around the house! So my dog Charlie is getting older (aren’t we all?) and he’s been struggling to jump up on the bed lately. I was kind of worried about his joints, and I didn’t want him to hurt himself trying to be next to me at night.
These stairs are pretty awesome because they’re not just steps – they’ve actually got this comfy seat built in, which means Charlie can hang out right next to me while I’m working from home. It’s super cute how he just curls up there while I’m typing away. He gets to be close without constantly pawing at me for attention, which, to be fair, used to drive me nuts when I was on Zoom calls!
I’ve moved it around the house a bit – it works great by the bed, but I’ve also put it near the living room window where Charlie loves to watch the neighborhood squirrels. The khaki color is neutral enough that it doesn’t look totally out of place with my furniture (unlike that bright red dog bed I bought last year… yikes).
The weight limit is 100 lbs, which is way more than my little guy needs, but it’s nice knowing it’s sturdy. Speaking of sturdy, the metal frame doesn’t budge even when Charlie gets excited and does his little happy dance on it. There are these non-slip screws on the bottom that keep it from sliding around on my hardwood floors, which was a big concern of mine.
What I didn’t expect was how convenient the storage would be! When my parents visited last weekend, I just folded the legs up and tucked it under the couch – way easier than I thought it would be. It’s only like 10 pounds, so moving it between rooms isn’t a hassle at all.
The cleaning part is probably what I appreciate most compared to Charlie’s old bed. That thing was like a magnet for dog hair, I swear! This one has a washable cover that unzips pretty easily. I tossed it in with my laundry the other day after Charlie came in from a muddy walk, and it came out looking brand new.
Measurements-wise, it’s about 24 inches long, 16 inches wide, and stands 14 inches high when it’s set up. When you fold it, it shrinks down to just 4 inches high, which is honestly thinner than some of my winter sweaters!
