Century 4-in-1 High Chair, Adjustable with 4 Modes, Metro

You wouldn’t believe how quickly kids grow these days! I recently upgraded to the Century 4-in-1 High Chair in Metro, and honestly, it’s been a total game-changer for our family dinners. My little one just turned 9 months, and I was getting pretty tired of constantly buying new stuff every few months as she outgrows everything.
What I really love about this high chair is that it’s actually designed to stick around for the long haul. It transforms from a regular baby high chair to a booster, then a stool, and finally a big kid chair. My sister’s kid is using the same model at 4 years old now (in the big kid mode), so I know we’ll definitely get our money’s worth!
The whole “Happy Planet” thing might sound like marketing talk, but I’m actually pretty impressed that they’re using recycled polyester in the fabric. It doesn’t feel cheap or scratchy at all – you honestly can’t tell the difference from regular materials. Kind of nice to know we’re not adding more plastic to landfills with every baby product we buy.
Let me tell you, the dishwasher-safe tray insert is pretty much the best thing ever. Last night was spaghetti night (big mistake with a baby, lol) and I just popped the tray right into the dishwasher. Way better than scrubbing tomato sauce out of every little groove by hand like with our old high chair. The tray’s about 12.5 inches wide and 8 inches deep, which is plenty of space for meals and small toys to keep her entertained.
The seat pad is machine-washable too, which, to be fair, is basically essential with babies. Had a blowout situation last week (TMI, sorry!) and being able to throw the whole pad in the wash was a lifesaver. It’s got nice padding too – seems way comfier than the wooden one my friend has for her kid.
One of the features I use literally every day is the one-handed tray removal. When you’re holding a squirmy baby in one arm, you really appreciate being able to pop the tray off with the other hand. The tray adjusts to three positions too, which is pretty handy as she grows.
The reclining feature has been super useful – we started using it when she was just figuring out solid foods and needed a bit more support. Now she sits upright like a big girl, but it’s nice having options. To be honest, I didn’t think we’d use the recline feature much, but it’s come in handy more than I expected.
And it has wheels! This might not sound like a big deal, but trust me, being able to roll it from the kitchen to the dining room without awkwardly lifting the whole thing is surprisingly convenient. Our kitchen isn’t huge, so sometimes I need to move it out of the way, and the wheels make it so much easier.
The footrest is another thing I wouldn’t have thought about before, but it definitely helps my daughter stay balanced. She’s at that stage where she’s figuring out how her body works, and having a place to rest her feet seems to keep her more settled during meals.
Size-wise, it’s about 28 inches long, 22 wide, and 41 high – not the smallest thing in the world, but not as bulky as some of the other high chairs we looked at. Weighs about 18 pounds, so not too bad to move around. The frame feels pretty sturdy – definitely doesn’t wobble like my sister’s cheaper high chair.
I really appreciate that it’s designed to grow with her until she’s around 5 years old. Between the 5-point harness for safety now and the different modes for later, I probably won’t need to buy another chair for years. Assembly wasn’t a nightmare either – took me maybe 20 minutes while watching Netflix.
If you’re on the fence about this one, I’d say go for it. It’s been totally worth it for us – practical, easy to clean, and will last for years. Plus, it doesn’t look like an eyesore in our dining area, which is a nice bonus!
