I’ve been using the Zesthouse Modern White Swivel Desk Chair for about three months now, and honestly, I’m pretty impressed with what I got. I’ve gone through like five different office chairs in the past couple years (my partner says I’m way too picky), but this one actually ticks most of my boxes.
The first thing that caught my eye was definitely the look of it. I mean, white boucle fabric with a gold base? It’s not like your typical boring black office chair that just fades into the background. This thing is kind of a statement piece in my home office. My sister actually asked where I got it when she came over last weekend—she thought it was some expensive designer chair!
The boucle fabric feels really nice—kind of like a cozy sweater, which sounds weird for a chair, but trust me, it works. It’s got this soft, textured feel that’s surprisingly comfortable for long stretches. I’ve been working from home full-time, so I’m sitting in this thing for like 8+ hours some days, and it holds up pretty well. To be fair, I do get up and stretch every hour or so, but my back doesn’t hurt nearly as much as it did with my old chair.
The armrests are thicker than I expected and sort of curve inward, which is actually really comfortable. They kind of cradle your arms, if that makes sense? It feels more secure than those flat plastic armrests that are on every other office chair out there.
One thing I wasn’t expecting—the chair is actually adjustable from about 18 to 22 inches, which is super helpful because I’m on the taller side. My husband tried it too (he’s shorter than me), and it worked fine for him after adjusting it down. The swivel is smooth, and the wheels roll really well on both my hardwood and the area rug under my desk.
Setup wasn’t bad at all. Took me maybe 15-20 minutes tops, and I’m definitely not handy. All the parts were there, and the instructions were clear enough. The chair is pretty sturdy once it’s put together—it can apparently hold up to 260 pounds, which seems pretty good for how sleek it looks.
It’s not the cheapest chair out there (I had to convince myself I deserved it after my promotion), but compared to some of those high-end ergonomic chairs that cost like $1000+, this feels like a pretty good middle ground. The dimensions are good for my space too—about 24 inches wide by 25 inches deep, and the height ranges from 32-36 inches depending on how you adjust it.
If you’re looking for something that doesn’t scream “boring office furniture” but still functions like a proper desk chair, this might be worth checking out. It’s comfier than my old IKEA chair but still looks nice enough that I don’t mind having it visible during video calls!
