So I recently upgraded my home office with this Hamilton Executive Chair, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier with my choice. I’ve been working from home a lot lately and my old chair was killing my back, so I figured it was time for something better.
This thing has this really cool vintage vibe that’s kind of industrial but not too over-the-top, you know? The brown leather is actually top grain – not that fake stuff that peels after a few months. It’s got these long-stitched stripes on the seat and back that look pretty fancy but are actually super comfortable too.
I was a bit worried about comfort for my 8-hour workdays (which sometimes turn into 10-hour marathons, let’s be real), but the high-density foam padding is no joke. It sort of molds to your body after sitting for a while, which is nice. The ergonomic design has definitely made a difference for my lower back pain – not perfect, but way better than before.
One thing I really appreciate is being able to adjust the height from about 18 to 21 inches. My desk is a bit taller than standard, so this flexibility is a lifesaver. The swivel function is smooth too – I can roll around to grab stuff without that annoying squeaking my old chair had.
The base seems pretty solid – it’s made of iron with a metal finish. The casters roll really well on my hardwood floors, though I did put a mat down just to be safe. It feels stable even when I’m leaning back, which is reassuring since it claims to hold up to 250 pounds.
I was a little unsure about the wooden armrests at first, but they’re actually at a good height (about 31 inches) and have some metal reinforcement inside. They’ve got this natural finish with a subtle rainbow accent that kind of ties in with other pieces in my office.
Size-wise, it fits my space perfectly – about 24 inches wide and 28 inches deep. The height adjusts from 37 to 40 inches total, which works for my setup. The seat itself is 19 inches deep, which gives plenty of room without making me feel like I’m sitting in a giant’s chair.
Assembly wasn’t bad at all – took me maybe 30-40 minutes by myself. All the hardware was included, and the instructions were pretty straightforward, which was a nice surprise compared to some other furniture I’ve put together.
It’s definitely on the heavier side at 35 pounds, but that just makes it feel more substantial. To be fair, I wouldn’t want to be moving it up and down stairs regularly.
Overall, this Hamilton chair has been a total game-changer for my home office. Not the cheapest option out there, but considering how much time I spend sitting in it, I’d say it’s been worth every penny. If you’re looking for something that’s comfortable for long work sessions but still looks kinda sophisticated, this is definitely worth checking out.
