I finally found the perfect barstool after months of searching! This vintage-style green leather one has totally transformed my kitchen island area.
Let me tell you, these aren’t your average barstools. I was looking for something that had that classic American vibe but wouldn’t look out of place with my slightly more modern kitchen, and honestly, these nailed it. The green leather is absolutely gorgeous in person – kind of a rich, deep shade that looks way more expensive than what I paid.
What I love most is how substantial these feel. They’re built with solid wood backs (which, by the way, are super comfortable to lean against) and can apparently hold up to 440 pounds! I mean, I’m not testing that myself, but it’s pretty reassuring knowing they’re not going to collapse when friends come over.
The swivel feature is something I didn’t realize I needed until I had it. It’s so convenient to be able to turn around and chat with someone in the living room without awkwardly dismounting the whole stool. Plus, they’re surprisingly light (about 12 kg) which makes rearranging them really easy when I’m cleaning.
I got the 68cm height option for my counter, but there are five different heights to choose from (55cm, 61cm, 68cm, 76cm, 85cm). Measure carefully though! I almost ordered the wrong size, which would’ve been a pain to return.
The seat itself is pretty comfy – wide enough at about 45cm that you don’t feel cramped, and the leather is actually really easy to wipe clean. I spilled some wine the other night and it just wiped right off, no stain or anything. That’s a huge plus in my book.
Assembly wasn’t bad at all. Took me maybe 20 minutes, and I’m terrible with instructions usually. All the hardware came included, and everything lined up properly, which hasn’t always been my experience with furniture.
The only thing to note is that these aren’t height-adjustable once you choose your size. To be fair, that’s not really an issue for me since my counter height isn’t changing, but just something to keep in mind.
They’ve been holding up great for the past few months – no squeaking or wobbling. The company seems pretty legit too, with a 5-year business model and customer service that actually responds (I had a question about care instructions and they got back to me within a day).
All in all, these barstools are not bad at all for the price! They’re definitely fancier than the cheap ones I had before and more comfortable than my friend’s metal industrial stools. If you’re looking to upgrade your kitchen or bar area, I’d definitely recommend giving these a look.
