I’ve gotta say, I finally bit the bullet and ordered this velvet office chair last month, and honestly? It’s been a game-changer for my WFH setup. I was getting pretty tired of my old IKEA chair that was basically killing my back, so I decided to treat myself to something a bit nicer.
When it arrived, I was kinda worried about putting it together since I’m terrible with furniture assembly (my bookshelf is still slightly crooked, lol), but it was actually super easy! Took me maybe 15 minutes tops, and I even did it while watching Netflix.
The velvet fabric is really soft – way comfier than I expected. I went with the pink one because my office space needed a pop of color, and it looks so cute against my white desk. The cushioning is pretty good too. It’s got this high-density sponge padding that doesn’t flatten out even though I basically live in this chair most days.
One thing I really appreciate is how it swivels all the way around. Like, sometimes I need to grab something from behind me without getting up (I’m lazy, I know), and being able to just spin around is great. The height adjustment works smoothly too – I can go from about 16.5 inches up to 20 inches off the ground, which is perfect because my desk is kind of tall.
The build quality seems solid so far. It’s got this metal frame with a nylon base that feels sturdy, and it says it can hold up to 330 pounds, which is reassuring. The wheels roll pretty well on my hardwood floors, and they haven’t scratched anything up, which was a concern of mine.
Size-wise, it’s not too bulky – about 22 inches wide and deep, which is perfect for my small apartment office corner. The backrest is about 15 inches high, which isn’t super tall but offers decent support. The armrests are a nice touch too, sitting at about 8 inches high.
To be fair, there are probably fancier ergonomic chairs out there, but for the price point, this one’s not bad at all. It definitely beats my previous chair in terms of comfort for those long Zoom meeting days. And the petal design gives it a bit more personality than your standard office chair.
If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it! They have other colors too – blue, gray, and yellow – so you can match it to whatever vibe you’re going for. I kind of wish I’d bought this sooner instead of suffering through back pain for months, but better late than never, right?
