I’ve finally found a solution to my egg chair cover problems! So I picked up this black heavy-duty cover (75″ x 45″) after my last cheap one literally fell apart after one winter. Honestly, this thing is pretty impressive – it’s made with this 420D polyester that has some kind of PVC coating, which actually seems to work! We had a massive downpour last weekend and my chair stayed completely dry underneath.
What I really like is that it actually fits my egg chair perfectly. I was kind of worried because my chair is slightly bigger than standard, but at 75″ high and 45″ wide, there was plenty of room. It would probably work with most egg chairs out there – whether you’ve got one of those wicker ones or the metal frame types.
The wind protection is no joke either. We get these crazy gusts where I live, and my old cover would just blow right off. This one has this drawstring thing at the bottom and these buckles you can adjust to keep it super secure. I haven’t had to chase it down the street yet, which is honestly a miracle!
It’s been really useful for more than just rain, to be fair. The cover blocks all that pollen (which is a lifesaver since I have allergies), keeps the dust off, and apparently blocks UV rays too. My previous chair faded so badly in the sun, so I’m hoping this one prevents that from happening again.
The zipper runs all the way down which makes it way easier to get on and off than I expected. I can actually do it by myself without having to call my husband for help, which is pretty nice. When you’re not using it, the cover folds up into this matching storage bag. It doesn’t take up much space at all in my garage.
If you need to clean it, you just wipe it down or spray it with the hose – couldn’t be simpler. For around the same price as those flimsy covers that fall apart, this is definitely worth the money. My neighbor actually asked me where I got it after seeing how well it held up during that storm we had!
