Tommy Bahama Multi-Color Beach Chair

I just got my hands on this Tommy Bahama beach chair, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier with it! I’ve gone through like three different beach chairs in the past few years, so I was hoping this one would finally be “the one” – and so far, it’s pretty awesome.
First off, this thing is super light – only 9 pounds! I was kind of surprised when I first picked it up. The aluminum frame doesn’t feel cheap though, which is nice. My last chair started rusting after just one summer (ugh), but this one’s supposed to hold up against all that salty beach air, so fingers crossed.
When I fold it up, it’s pretty compact – about 25.5 x 7 x 31 inches. The backpack straps are actually padded, which makes a huge difference when you’re lugging all your beach stuff from the parking lot. Trust me, when you’re already carrying a cooler and beach bag, having your hands free is a game-changer!
The multi-color fabric is way cuter in person than in photos. It’s this breathable polyester that dries super fast, which is great because I hate sitting on damp chairs. And it feels sturdy too – it can hold up to 300 pounds, so my boyfriend who’s a pretty big guy feels totally comfortable in it.
Probably my favorite thing is how it reclines. There are five different positions, and you can actually lay it completely flat! To be fair, I mostly use the middle settings, but it’s nice having options depending on if I’m reading or just soaking up some sun.
The little extras are what make this chair worth it though. There’s this insulated pouch that keeps my drinks cold-ish (not as good as a real cooler, but pretty decent for a few hours). The armrests have spots for your phone and drink, which is honestly something I use every single time. The adjustable pillow is comfier than I expected too – definitely better than wadding up a towel under your neck like I used to do!
I love the little towel bar on the back – such a simple thing but kind of genius for keeping your towel from getting all sandy. And there’s a side pocket that’s perfect for sunscreen and my kindle.
I’ve taken it to the beach three times now, plus once to an outdoor concert, and it’s holding up great. If you spend a lot of time outdoors like I do, this chair is totally worth the investment!
