I’ve been hunting for years now, and honestly, I’ve tried pretty much every hunting chair on the market. Let me tell you about this TIDEWE Heated Hunting Chair I picked up last season – it’s been a total game-changer for those freezing morning sits.
So this chair is basically the whole package – it’s got this built-in heating system for your backside (which, trust me, is where you need it most when it’s 20 degrees out), a full 360° swivel that’s actually silent (unlike my old chair that squeaked like crazy), and these adjustable legs that have saved me on some really uneven terrain.
The heating function is probably my favorite part. You get three settings with this little button – blue for low heat (lasts like 10 hours), white for medium (about 6 hours), and red for high (around 3.5 hours). I typically start on high when I first get to my spot before sunrise, then dial it back to save battery. Speaking of which, the 10,000mAh battery is actually pretty decent and not super heavy. Kind of nice that you can charge your phone with it too when you’re sitting there scrolling through Instagram because nothing’s moving in your hunting area!
The 360° swivel is buttery smooth and doesn’t make any noise, which is pretty crucial when you’ve got a deer 30 yards out. My hunting buddy Mike was honestly jealous when he saw how easily I could turn to track movement without making a sound. The height adjustment is really handy too – each leg adjusts separately from about 18.5 to 22 inches. This has been a lifesaver on hillsides where my old chair would have me sitting at a weird angle.
What’s also great is how it blends in. The camo pattern with that TechMesh fabric they use is pretty convincing in the woods. I’ve had deer walk within 15 yards of me without even noticing I was there! The fabric is surprisingly quiet too – no loud swishing sounds when you shift your weight around.
One thing I didn’t expect to appreciate so much is the whole no-assembly design. You literally unfold it and you’re good to go. After fumbling with parts in the dark at 4:30 AM with my previous chairs, this is seriously convenient. It folds up pretty compact too – there’s this Velcro strap that keeps everything together, and the shoulder strap makes it manageable to carry, even with all my other gear. It’s not super lightweight at about 15 pounds, but I’ll take the extra weight for the stability and comfort it provides.
The removable seat cover is a nice touch for versatility. I actually take it off when I use the chair for summer fishing trips. Keeps things cooler and gives it a more subtle look when I’m not hunting.
As for comfort, it’s definitely a step up from my last chair. The armrests are padded just enough, and the seat is wide enough (about 20 inches) that I don’t feel cramped. The backrest gives decent support for those long sits, and the whole thing holds my 280 pounds without any issues (they say it’s rated for 300).
To be fair, it’s not perfect – the battery compartment could be designed a bit better, and I wish the high heat setting lasted longer on those really cold days. But compared to sitting on a freezing metal stand or those cheap foldable chairs, this thing is pretty much luxury in the woods.
If you’re a serious hunter who sits for hours in cold weather, especially if you’re doing blind hunting for deer or turkey, this chair is totally worth checking out. It’s comfier than my office chair, if I’m being honest!
