Okay, so I just got these Tenjam Woosah Adirondack chairs for our pool sun shelf, and honestly, I’m pretty impressed! I’d been hunting for something that would actually work in our shallow end without tipping over or floating away, and these totally fit the bill.
The chairs sit about 14 inches from the ground to the seat, which feels just right when you’re relaxing in the water. What I really love is that they can handle up to 13 inches of water depth – perfect for our sun shelf where I like to lounge with a book and a drink without getting completely soaked. We went with the Tall Base version (it’s about 18 inches high) because our pool sometimes gets these little waves when the kids are splashing around, and I didn’t want the chairs moving all over the place.
The versatility is what sold me, to be fair. One day they’re in the pool, the next day I’ve dragged them onto the patio for a little get-together. We got ours in Coastal Gray, and they look way better than those cheap plastic chairs we used to have. They actually match our outdoor decor now!
Setting them up wasn’t bad at all – took maybe 25 minutes per chair. The attachment system is kind of genius – it keeps the chairs super stable without needing to drill holes in my pool or anything crazy like that. And I appreciate that there’s zero metal parts – our last pool furniture started rusting after just one season, which was a total waste of money.
The comfort level is surprisingly good. The back is tall (like 32 inches) and has this nice contour that supports your whole back. I’m not exactly petite, but the 22-inch wide seat has plenty of room, and it’s deep enough (18 inches) that you can really settle in. My husband is around 280 pounds and he sits in these without any issues – they’re rated for 300 pounds.
Moving them around is definitely easier than I expected. They’re about 35 pounds, which isn’t exactly light, but I can still drag one out of the pool by myself when I need to. And the rounded bottoms on the legs don’t scratch up our vinyl liner, which was a huge concern of mine.
The material feels really solid – it’s this high-density polyethylene for the seat and polypropylene for the frame. After a full summer in the Florida sun, they haven’t faded a bit, which is pretty impressive. They’re about 35 inches high, 30 inches wide, and 34 inches deep overall, so they don’t take up too much space either.
Maintenance has been super easy – just hose them down every now and then. We had a bird make a mess on one chair, and it wiped right off without staining. The two-year warranty is nice too, though we haven’t needed to use it.
I’d definitely recommend these if you’ve got a sun shelf or shallow area in your pool. They’re not the cheapest option out there, but compared to the three sets of pool furniture we’ve gone through in the last five years, I think these Woosah chairs are going to be a better value in the long run.
