I honestly didn’t think I’d find myself this obsessed with a nursery chair, but here we are! I’ve been using the Teddy Upholstered Glider Rocker for about two months now, and it’s been a total game-changer for those late-night feedings with my little one.
First off, this chair is actually pretty comfy considering its size. The ergonomic design doesn’t feel like an afterthought – my arms and shoulders don’t ache anymore after holding the baby for ages. The gentle rocking motion is just right – not too dramatic like some of those pricier models my sister has. The backrest kind of hugs your spine, which makes a huge difference when you’re sitting for hours (and trust me, with a newborn, you WILL be sitting for hours!).
The quality is surprisingly decent for the price point. The iron frame feels solid – definitely sturdy enough to support my husband too, who’s around 220 pounds. The wooden legs add a nice touch compared to the all-plastic ones we almost bought instead. I’m absolutely loving the teddy fabric – it’s softer than my favorite sweater and hasn’t shown any wear despite constant use. The cushioning is firm but not hard, if that makes sense? It doesn’t sink in like our old living room chair that practically swallowed you whole.
What sold me was how quiet this thing is! Our apartment has thin walls, and the last thing I needed was a squeaky chair waking up the baby I just spent an hour getting to sleep. The silent strips they added to the base actually work – no annoying creaks at all.
In terms of nursery fit, it’s perfect for our small space. We have a pretty tiny room for the baby, and this chair doesn’t overwhelm it like I was worried it might. It’s become my favorite spot to feed, read stories, or honestly just zone out when the baby finally falls asleep and I’m too tired to move. My mother-in-law liked it so much she’s thinking about getting one for her reading nook!
Setting it up was way easier than expected. Took me maybe 15 minutes tops, and that was with my dog “helping.” All the tools came in the box, and the instructions were pretty straightforward. At 27 pounds, I can actually move it around myself when I need to vacuum, which is a big plus.
To be fair, the one-year warranty gives me some peace of mind, though I haven’t had to test their customer service yet. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
The dimensions (30.3″ x 34.6″ x 35.4″) fit perfectly in the corner we planned for, and the 18.5″ seat height works well for my 5’6″ frame. My taller husband wishes it was maybe an inch higher, but it’s not a deal-breaker for him. The grey color is nice and neutral – matches everything and doesn’t show stains easily (which, with a baby, is kind of essential).
If you’re on the fence about getting a nursery chair, I’d definitely recommend this one. It’s not as fancy as those $500+ options, but honestly, it does everything you need without breaking the bank. My back thanks me every day for making this purchase!
