So I finally bit the bullet and got myself this Techni Mobili TS85 cow print gaming chair, and honestly? It’s the quirkiest thing in my home office right now! I was a bit skeptical about the whole black and white cow pattern at first—like, would it be too much?—but it actually ties my space together in a way I wasn’t expecting.
The chair feels pretty luxurious with this velvet-like fabric that’s surprisingly soft to the touch. It’s not that cheap material that pills after a couple weeks, which was a relief. The build is pretty solid too—weighs about 40 pounds, so it’s substantial without being impossible to move around.
Setup wasn’t bad at all, though I did have to phone a friend to help with a couple parts. The steel frame feels sturdy enough to handle my not-so-graceful flopping into it after a long day (it’s rated for 250 pounds, and I’m nowhere near that, so we’re good).
The memory foam seat is probably my favorite feature. I’ve had gaming chairs before that felt like sitting on a brick after a few hours, but this one actually contours to your body a bit. And can we talk about the cow headrest pillow? It’s kind of ridiculous with those pink ears and horns, but in the best way possible. I’ve caught my roommate trying to steal it twice now!
The adjustability is pretty decent—you can mess with the armrests’ height and angle, which is nice because I tend to switch positions a lot when I’m working vs gaming. The seat height adjustment works smoothly too, though it did make that loud PSSSHHH sound the first few times I used it.
One thing that surprised me was how far back this thing reclines—like 150 degrees, which is basically napping territory. I may or may not have dozed off during a particularly boring Zoom call (don’t tell my boss). The tilt lock is handy too, since my last chair would randomly decide to recline when I leaned back.
Size-wise, it fits well in my medium-sized bedroom office. It’s about 27.5 inches wide and between 48.5 to 52.5 inches high depending on how you adjust it. The wheels roll smoothly on my hardwood, though I did have to get a chair mat for the carpeted areas of my apartment.
The 2-year warranty gives me some peace of mind, though to be fair, I’m hoping this chair lasts way longer than that. It’s definitely pricier than my old IKEA desk chair, but after spending basically all of 2023 working from home, my back is thanking me for the upgrade.
Bottom line? If you’re looking for something comfy that doesn’t scream “boring office furniture” and has a bit of personality, this cow print chair is actually pretty great. Just be prepared for everyone who sees it on video calls to ask where you got it!
