Okay, let me rewrite this product description to sound more like a personal review from someone who’s used the product:
I honestly can’t say enough good things about our Stokke Tripp Trapp chair. We bought it when our daughter was about 7 months old, and it’s been one of the best baby-related purchases we’ve made—seriously! This thing is kind of amazing because it actually grows with your kid. Our little one is now a toddler and still using it, but what’s cool is that my husband (who’s pretty tall) can sit in it too when we have extra guests over for dinner.
The whole adjustable thing is really what sold me. You can move both the seat and footrest to different heights, so your kid’s feet are always supported at that 90-degree angle they’re supposed to have. I’m a bit of a posture freak (thanks to my chiropractor), so I love that it promotes good sitting habits. We got the Natural finish because it matches our dining table, but honestly, I was tempted by some of the prettier colors too—they have everything from soft pastels to really bold ones.
Setting it up wasn’t bad at all. The chair isn’t super heavy (about 15 pounds I think?), so I can easily move it around when I’m cleaning under the table. One thing that surprised me was how stable it is. Our daughter is, let’s just say, an active eater who rocks and bounces in her chair, but this thing doesn’t budge. The European beech wood feels really solid—definitely not like some of the flimsy high chairs my friends have that feel like they might tip over.
To be fair, it’s not exactly cheap, especially when you add all the extras. We started with the Baby Set (that’s the part with the rail and backrest) since our daughter was already sitting up well. Looking back, I kinda wish we’d gotten the Newborn Set too—would’ve been nice to have her right at the table with us from the beginning instead of using that bulky swing we had. The cushions are pretty comfy too, though they’re sold separately which is a bit annoying.
What’s really impressed me is how well it’s holding up. My sister-in-law actually passed down her Tripp Trapp that she used for both her kids, and it still looks almost new. That 7-year warranty on the wooden parts gives you some peace of mind too, though from what I’ve seen, these chairs can last way longer than that.
Cleaning is pretty good, not perfect. The smooth wood wipes down really easily, which is a lifesaver with a messy toddler. Doesn’t have all the nooks and crannies that our old high chair had where food would get stuck—ugh, that was the worst!
I don’t usually get this excited about furniture, but this chair has kind of become part of our family mealtime routine. There’s something really nice about having everyone at the same table, at the right height, no matter how old or young. It’s one of those practical purchases that you end up using way more than you expected.
