I honestly never thought I’d be this excited about a ladder chair, but here we are! I recently picked up this pine wood folding step ladder for my apartment, and it’s been a total game-changer. At 46x35x90cm, it’s pretty compact but still does the job perfectly.
The whole 2-in-1 concept actually works way better than I expected. I’ve been using it as a regular chair most days, but when I need to reach my top kitchen cabinets (which used to be a whole ordeal), I just unfold it and boom—instant access! It’s actually saved me from doing that dangerous thing where you balance on the edge of the counter, you know?
The build quality is surprisingly solid for something that folds up. It’s made from real pine wood, not that cheap particle board stuff that falls apart after a month. I’m kind of a bigger person (not huge or anything), and it holds my weight without any creaking or wobbling—apparently it can support up to 150kg, which is pretty impressive. The anti-slip things on the bottom are a nice touch too. My hardwood floors have seen enough scratches already!
The best part might be how it folds up flat. My place isn’t exactly spacious, so being able to tuck it behind my couch when not in use is honestly such a relief. I’ve actually been using it in ways I didn’t expect—like as a plant stand by my window, and once as an impromptu side table when I had friends over for dinner. It’s definitely more versatile than I gave it credit for.
I got the natural wood finish, which looks better in person than in the pictures, to be fair. It has that rustic, kind of farmhouse vibe that works with my decor. It weighs about 6kg, so it’s not too heavy to move around from room to room when I need it.
Assembly wasn’t bad at all—took me maybe 15 minutes, and I’m definitely not the handiest person. The instructions were clearer than that IKEA bookshelf that nearly ended my relationship last year, lol.
The only slight downside is there was a tiny color variation from what I saw online, but honestly, that’s just how wood products are sometimes. When I had a question about delivery, their customer service got back to me pretty quickly, which was a nice surprise compared to some other online purchases I’ve made.
All in all, it’s comfier than it looks as a chair and sturdier than I expected as a ladder. If you’re tight on space but need both functions, I’d say it’s a pretty good investment.
