So I finally bit the bullet and got this SKYROKU potty training seat in blue for my 2-year-old, and honestly, it’s been a game-changer in our bathroom! I was getting pretty tired of those standalone potty chairs that you have to empty (gross), so I wanted something that would work with our regular toilet.
This thing is super versatile – fits our toilet perfectly, and I love that it works with most standard and elongated toilets (though heads up, it won’t work if you have one of those fancy square toilets). Our toilet’s about 16 inches high, which is right in the sweet spot for this seat since it works with heights from 14 to 18 inches.
The adjustable ladder is probably my favorite feature. My little guy started using the lower setting (around 6.7 inches), but as he’s gotten more confident, we bumped it up to the taller setting. It feels really solid too – it’s made of this BPA-free plastic that doesn’t flex or wobble when he climbs up. I was kind of skeptical about the weight capacity claim of 165 pounds, but my husband accidentally stepped on it once (don’t ask), and it held up just fine!
The non-slip feet are pretty crucial, to be fair. The last thing you want is this sliding around when your toddler is halfway up! The little handrails give my son something to grip onto, which has made him way more confident about the whole process. And can I just say – the splash guard has saved our bathroom floor countless times. If you have a boy, you NEED this feature, trust me.
Cleaning it isn’t bad at all. The cushion comes off easily, and I just wipe it down with some soapy water. It’s this waterproof foam material that doesn’t absorb anything (thank goodness). After a few months of use, it still looks pretty good, though it’s nice to know I can get replacement cushions if needed.
When we’re not using it, I love that we can fold it up. Our bathroom isn’t huge, so being able to slim it down to about 5.5 inches wide means we can tuck it behind the door. It’s light enough (like 4.2 pounds) that I can easily move it between bathrooms when needed.
One thing I didn’t expect – assembly was actually super easy! No tools needed, and it took maybe 5 minutes tops. The seat is shaped nice and comfy too, which matters when your kiddo is sitting there for what feels like forever sometimes!
Overall, this blue SKYROKU potty seat has made potty training way less stressful than I thought it would be. My little guy actually gets excited about using the “big boy toilet” now. It’s comfier and way more practical than that cheap plastic potty chair my sister got for her kid. Definitely worth getting if you’re in that potty training phase!
