So, I finally pulled the trigger on these patio chairs after weeks of searching, and honestly? I’m pretty glad I did! We got a set of 2 outdoor swivel rockers with brown wicker and these really vibrant red cushions for our deck, and they’ve been kind of a game-changer for our outdoor space.
The whole swivel and glide thing is actually way more useful than I thought it would be. You can turn a full 360° to chat with whoever’s around, or face the view when you want some quiet time. I was a bit worried they’d be stiff or squeaky, but they move super smoothly on this metal base that seems pretty rust-resistant so far (we’ve had a few rain showers since I got them).
I’ve had cheap patio furniture before that basically fell apart after one season, but these chairs feel sturdy as heck. The wicker isn’t that cheap plastic-y stuff that cracks – it’s made of this PE material that’s held up really well to the sun and rain. The frame supports my husband who’s around 280 pounds without any wobbling, which was a must for us. The box says they support up to 300 pounds each, and I believe it.
The cushions are what sold me, to be fair. They’re pretty thick – about 4 inches – and haven’t gone flat even though I’ve been sitting in them practically every evening with my coffee. My old patio chairs would kill my back after 20 minutes, but these have this high back (like 22 inches) that actually supports your whole spine. I didn’t expect that to make such a difference! The red fabric hasn’t faded yet either, which is impressive considering our patio gets direct afternoon sun.
Keeping them clean has been no big deal. I just wipe down the wicker when the pollen gets bad, and the cushion covers come off for washing, which is so much better than my previous set where everything was attached. That’s been a lifesaver after my nephew spilled juice all over one.
Putting them together wasn’t too bad – took me maybe 40 minutes per chair while watching TV. All the parts were there, and the instructions were clearer than that nightstand I got from IKEA last year, lol.
Size-wise, they’re bigger than those dinky chairs at the big box stores but not as massive as some of the patio furniture I was looking at. They’re about 32 × 34 × 36 inches, with really deep seats (24 × 24 inches) that let me curl up with a book if I want. The seat height is perfect for me at 18 inches – a bit higher than my indoor sofa which makes it easier to get up.
These have been great for everything from morning coffee to evening drinks with neighbors. They’re comfier than my old couch, if I’m being honest! If you’re on the fence about these, I’d say they’re worth the investment – especially if you actually use your outdoor space a lot.
