I finally upgraded my kitchen island seating last month with these grayish-brown counter height barstools, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier with them! They’re made of real solid wood—not that cheap particle board stuff that falls apart after a year. These things are seriously sturdy. We have a pretty busy kitchen with kids running around, and they haven’t wobbled once. They hold up to 250 pounds too, which is pretty impressive.
The swivel feature is kind of a game-changer for me. They rotate about 180 degrees, which is perfect when I’m cooking and chatting with the family at the same time. No more awkwardly twisting my body around! I was worried they might squeak after a while (my old ones sure did), but they’re still smooth and quiet.
One thing I really appreciate is the stainless steel footrest. It’s not just for comfort—though it is comfy—but it also keeps the wood legs from getting all scuffed up. My previous barstools looked terrible after a year because everyone was always resting their feet on the wood crossbars.
Style-wise, they’re honestly prettier than I expected. The PU leather (or maybe mine are the linen version? I can’t remember) is super easy to wipe clean, which is a must in my house. The grayish-brown color goes with pretty much everything—I didn’t even have to redecorate! I was worried the rectangular seats might look a bit office-like, but they’re actually really nice and give you more sitting space than those tiny round stools.
The height is perfect for our 36-inch countertop. I’m 5’4″ and can sit comfortably without feeling like I’m climbing a mountain, and my husband who’s way taller fits fine too.
Assembly wasn’t bad at all. Most of it was already put together, and I just had to attach the legs. Took me maybe 10-15 minutes per stool while I was watching TV. All the hardware was included, and the instructions were pretty straightforward.
To be fair, they’re a bit heavier than I expected—about 15 pounds each—but that’s probably why they feel so solid. Cleaning is super simple; I just wipe them down with a damp cloth when the kids spill something.
These have been perfect for our kitchen island, but they’d work great in a dining room or even a home office. If you’re tired of flimsy barstools that wobble and break, these are definitely worth checking out!
