So I’ve finally gotten my hands on this insane scorpion gaming chair, and honestly? It’s pretty much the craziest setup I’ve ever tried. I mean, just look at this thing! It’s basically what I imagine professional e-sports players must use when they’re not on tournament stages.
The whole scorpion design isn’t just for show (though it definitely makes my gaming corner look like something from the future). This chair is a complete cockpit experience – I’ve got my main 43″ screen mounted right in the center, but you could totally fit a 49″ ultrawide if that’s your thing. For a while, I was running three 32″ monitors which was kind of overwhelming but awesome for streaming and multitasking. The mounts let you adjust everything just right so you’re not straining your neck.
The lighting is actually pretty useful – not just flashy RGB stuff (though it has that too with like 16 different colors you can switch between with the remote). The anti-glare LEDs have been a game-changer during those late-night sessions when I don’t want the main room light on but still need to see my keyboard.
What’s really changed my gaming life is the electric adjustment. Like, I can be sitting totally upright when I’m playing competitive stuff that needs focus, then with a button press, recline halfway back when watching Twitch, or even go completely flat when I’m just done for the day but too lazy to get up. The armrests are surprisingly practical too – there’s this little storage compartment where I keep my controller and a cup holder that’s saved my desk from countless spills.
The keyboard tray is pretty solid – extends out to about 87 x 34 cm and you can adjust it up or down about 20 cm. Took me a bit to get used to the positioning, but now my regular desk feels weird.
Build quality is definitely better than I expected. The PU leather feels pretty premium and hasn’t shown wear after a few months of daily use. The foam padding is way more comfortable than my old gaming chair – no more numb backside after a few hours. The whole thing is built on this thick steel frame that doesn’t wobble at all, which was my biggest concern given how much it costs.
Fair warning though – this beast is HEAVY. We’re talking about 160 kg (around 352 pounds) net weight. When it arrived, getting it upstairs was a two-person job and then some. The packaging weighed even more – about 200 kg. But I guess that’s the tradeoff for something this sturdy.
Power-wise, it works with standard outlets (110-240V) so you don’t need any special wiring. All the cables are nicely hidden inside the frame too, which keeps things looking clean rather than like the tangled mess my old setup was.
I’ve had friends over just to try sitting in this thing – it’s become kind of a conversation piece in my apartment. And surprisingly, it’s actually great for regular work too. I’ve been doing my WFH days in it and my productivity is up, probably because I’m just more comfortable.
Setup wasn’t as nightmarish as I thought it might be. Everything comes in pieces (main body, keyboard tray, armrests, screen mounts, and those scorpion-looking legs), but the instructions were decent enough to figure out.
It’s definitely not cheap, but compared to buying a high-end gaming chair plus separate monitor stands and desk, it’s actually not terrible value. If you spend serious hours gaming or working at your computer, your back will thank you.
