I finally pulled the trigger on this Rivet Aiden loveseat in Hunter Green, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier with my decision! I’d been eyeing it for months after my old IKEA couch started to give out, and let me tell you – the upgrade was SO worth it.
The rich hunter green velvet is what initially caught my eye (it’s actually prettier in person than in the photos), and it’s surprisingly soft to the touch. Not that scratchy velvet feeling you sometimes get with cheaper furniture. The whole mid-century vibe is totally on point without feeling like I’m trying too hard, you know?
Setting it up was pretty straightforward – took me maybe 15 minutes tops, which was a relief because I’m not exactly handy with tools. The whole thing is super solid though – it’s got a hardwood frame that doesn’t wobble or creak when you plop down on it. Those walnut-finished legs are really pretty and give it that authentic mid-century look I was going for.
Size-wise, it’s perfect for my apartment living room – about 74″ wide, so it doesn’t overwhelm the space but still comfortably fits me and my boyfriend (or me and my dog spread out, let’s be real). The seat height is around 17.7″ which works well with my coffee table. Oh, and depth-wise, it’s about 36.2″ deep with a seat depth of 23.2″ – pretty good for curling up with a book!
The cushioning is kind of the perfect balance between firm and soft? Like, supportive enough that you don’t sink in too much, but definitely comfy enough for binge-watching shows. I appreciate that the back cushions are removable and can be flipped over – my last couch got so worn in certain spots and looked terrible after a while.
Weight-wise, this thing isn’t messing around – it’s about 84 pounds, which made getting it up to my third-floor walkup… an adventure. But it feels really sturdy and can apparently hold up to 700 pounds, which is pretty impressive for a loveseat!
The tufted bench seat adds a nice touch of sophistication, and those little bolster pillows that come with it are actually useful (I usually toss the decorative pillows that come with furniture, but these are pretty comfy).
Maintenance seems pretty straightforward so far – just wiping with a dry cloth when needed. I’m being super careful with it though because… velvet. No red wine allowed anywhere near this baby!
To be fair, it wasn’t the cheapest option out there, but considering how well-made it feels and how much it’s elevated my whole living room vibe, I’d say it was money well spent. Definitely feels like a grown-up purchase that’ll last for years.
