I finally pulled the trigger on this Rattan Double Papasan Chair with the camel microsuede cushion, and honestly, I’m kicking myself for not getting one sooner! My living room needed something cozy but not too bulky, and this fit the bill perfectly.
So the chair itself has this gorgeous walnut-finished rattan frame that’s surprisingly sturdy – I was kind of worried it might feel flimsy, but it’s really well-made. The handwoven rattan gives it this natural, boho vibe that works so much better with my decor than my old IKEA armchair did.
The real star of the show though? That cushion! It’s ridiculously thick – like 9-10 inches of pure comfort – and the microsuede fabric feels pretty luxurious against your skin. I went with the camel color which is super versatile, not too light that it’ll show every little stain (which is perfect because my cat has already claimed half of it), but not so dark that it feels heavy in the room.
Assembly wasn’t bad at all. Took me maybe 15-20 minutes tops, and I’m definitely not the handiest person. The instructions were clear enough, and all the hardware was included, which was a nice surprise compared to some furniture I’ve bought online.
The chair is pretty spacious – about 48 inches wide by 36 inches deep. My boyfriend and I can both squeeze in for movie nights, though to be fair, it’s cozier with just one of us sprawled out. It holds up to 400 pounds apparently, so no worries there!
One thing I really appreciate is that they only used 10 tufts on the cushion, which means it stays super plump and doesn’t have that overly-buttoned look. Way comfier than my parents’ old papasan that had buttons everywhere.
I was actually torn between this microsuede version and their outdoor fabric option (they have a bunch of different fabrics if you check out their other listings), but for an indoor chair in my living room corner, this was perfect. Cleaning it is pretty simple too – just spot clean with a damp cloth if anything spills.
If you’re on the fence, just get it! It’s become the most fought-over seat in our house, and I’ve caught multiple friends napping in it when they come over. It’s like sitting in a cloud, but with actual support.
