So I finally replaced my old office chair with this PUKAMI armless one in beige, and honestly, I’m pretty impressed with what I got.
When it showed up, I was worried about the whole assembly thing (I’m definitely not the handiest person), but it was surprisingly straightforward. Took me maybe 15-20 minutes tops, and everything I needed was right there in the box. No hunting for that one missing screw!
The wheels on this thing are actually really nice – they’re these PU nylon silent wheels that don’t make that annoying scraping sound on my hardwood floors. My last chair would wake up my roommate when I’d roll around late at night, but this one glides super quietly. The base is pretty solid too – about 25.6 inches and made of steel. It feels way more stable than my cheap old chair from college.
What really sold me was the wide seat. It’s a full 20 inches across, which means I can actually sit cross-legged while I work (game changer for someone fidgety like me). The cushioning is pretty nice too – about 3 inches of foam that’s firm enough to support you but soft enough to be comfy for those long work-from-home days. The beige twill fabric feels decent quality – kind of like a nice couch material that seems like it’ll hold up.
I’m about 5’10” and the height adjustment works great for me – goes from around 17.3 to 22 inches. The chair swivels all the way around, and you can tilt it back between 90° and 120°, which is nice when I need to lean back and think (or, let’s be honest, when I’m just procrastinating). There’s this knob under the seat to adjust how much resistance you get when you lean back. Took me a bit to figure out the perfect setting, but now it’s just right.
The U-shaped backrest is actually more comfortable than it looks in the pictures. It kind of hugs your back in a way that distributes pressure evenly. After a month of using it, I’ve noticed my back doesn’t ache as much at the end of the day.
For reference, the whole chair is about 30 pounds, so it’s not too heavy to move around if you need to. The armless design is perfect for my small apartment office setup – lets me tuck it all the way under my desk when I’m not using it, which saves a ton of space.
Oh, and it supposedly holds up to 300 pounds according to the specs, which feels reassuring even though I’m nowhere near that.
To be fair, I wish it came in more colors, but the beige actually looks pretty nice with my desk. All in all, definitely an upgrade from what I had before and pretty good value for what you’re getting.
