So I finally got my hands on these PHI VILLA stackable patio chairs, and honestly, they’re pretty much exactly what I needed for my small deck. I’ve been looking for something that doesn’t take up a ton of space when not in use, and these actually stack really nicely. They’re about 25″ long, 22.5″ wide, and 35″ high – not too bulky but definitely substantial enough to feel secure when you sit in them.
The chairs aren’t too heavy (about 15 pounds each), which is great because I can move them around by myself without breaking a sweat. That said, they don’t feel flimsy at all. The wrought iron frame is seriously sturdy – I’m a bigger guy and they hold my weight no problem (they’re rated for 300 pounds, by the way). My buddy who’s on the heavier side tried them out when he came over for a BBQ last weekend, and he was totally comfortable.
I’ve gotta say, I was a bit skeptical about metal chairs being comfortable, but the seat height (17″) is actually perfect for my patio table. The armrests are at a good height too – about 25″ – which makes these way comfier than those cheap plastic chairs I had before. They’re definitely more comfortable than they look, though I might add some cushions later on just to soften them up a bit.
Assembly wasn’t bad at all. Took me maybe 25 minutes to put both chairs together while watching TV. Everything came in the box – parts, tools, instructions – and it was pretty straightforward. Some of the screws were a tiny bit tricky to line up, but nothing major.
One thing I really appreciate is how easy they are to clean. We had a crazy rainstorm the other day, and I noticed the water just drains right through some gaps in the seat instead of pooling up. Super practical design! I just wiped them down afterward and they were good to go.
The black finish looks nice with my other patio stuff, kind of sleek and modern but not too fancy. That “ecoating” they mention in the description seems legit – we’re pretty close to the coast and so far no signs of rust at all, even after a few months. My old metal chairs started showing rust spots within weeks, so this is a huge improvement.
To be fair, they’re not the absolute comfiest chairs I’ve ever sat in – they’re metal after all – but for outdoor dining or having a beer on the patio, they work perfectly fine. And the fact that they stack is just so convenient for winter storage. I can tuck them away in my tiny shed without any hassle.
Overall, these are working out great for my small patio. Kinda wish I’d bought these years ago instead of cycling through cheaper options that kept breaking or rusting. The durability alone makes them worth it.
