Oversized Papasan Rocking Chair with Cushion for Patio, Porch, or Indoor Use (White Teddy)

I honestly couldn’t believe how comfy this oversized papasan rocker turned out to be! I’ve been eyeing one of these egg-shaped chairs for ages, and finally pulled the trigger on this White Teddy version for our back porch. Let me tell you – it’s pretty much become my new favorite spot in the house.
The chair is huge – like 43.7″ deep by 37.2″ wide – which is actually bigger than I expected. It kind of wraps around you in this super ergonomic way that just feels right, you know? The gentle rocking motion (it goes back and forth about 30°) is so relaxing after a long day. I’ve definitely dozed off in it a couple times already while “reading” – whoops!
What surprised me most was how sturdy it feels. The frame is made from this coated alloy steel with hand-woven rattan that looks way more expensive than it is. My husband was skeptical about the weight limit, but it easily holds his 300+ pounds without any creaking or wobbling. The rattan feels really smooth too, not like those scratchy wicker chairs my grandma used to have.
Oh man, and the cushion! It’s this thick 3.5″ polyester foam that honestly feels like sitting on a cloud. The White Teddy fabric is actually super practical – it’s waterproof and stain-resistant, which is a lifesaver because I’m constantly spilling my coffee. We got caught in a surprise shower the other day and I was freaking out, but the water just beaded right off. The fabric is apparently UV-resistant too, which is great since our porch gets direct afternoon sun.
We’ve been moving it between our patio and living room depending on the weather. At around 36 pounds, it’s not too heavy to reposition, though it’s definitely not lightweight. It looks just as good inside as it does outside – way better than that tired old accent chair we had in the corner before.
Assembly wasn’t bad at all. My husband insisted on doing it himself (of course) and had it together in about 25 minutes. All the tools came in the box, which was a nice surprise since we’ve just moved and half our stuff is still packed away somewhere.
To be fair, I do wish the cushion had some ties or something to keep it in place – it can shift a tiny bit if you’re really rocking. But that’s honestly my only complaint so far. I’ve been wiping it down with a damp cloth every week or so, and it still looks brand new after two months.
If you’re on the fence about getting one of these, just do it. It’s comfier than my old couch and has completely transformed our porch hangout situation!
