I’ve gotta say, this oversized camping chair has been a total game-changer for our outdoor adventures! When my partner and I first started looking for something sturdy enough for both of us, I was honestly skeptical we’d find anything that could handle our combined weight without wobbling like crazy.
This loveseat chair from FAIR WIND is pretty much the tank of camping chairs. The frame is built with this heavy-duty steel tubing (22mm if you’re into the specs) that feels way more substantial than those flimsy chairs you find at big box stores. What really impressed me was the weight capacity – 650 pounds! That’s seriously no joke. We’re not exactly lightweights, and this thing doesn’t even creak when we’re both sitting in it.
The size is actually perfect for us. It’s super wide at 57.5 inches across, which means no more elbowing each other for armrest space! The seat is about 18 inches off the ground, which is kinda perfect because it’s not too low where your knees are up by your chin, but not so high that your feet dangle. My old camping chair was such a pain to get in and out of, but this one is just right.
One thing I didn’t expect to love was how they reinforced it. There are these six cross-bracing thingies (I guess they’re called hubs?) on the front, sides and back that make it crazy stable. We took it to the beach last weekend, and you know how chairs usually sink into the sand and tip over? This one barely budged! The stabilizing legs in the front definitely help with that.
The fabric is pretty comfy too – it’s fully padded with this 4-layer ripstop material. Way better than my old chair that had that thin mesh that would leave imprints on your legs. We spent like 5 hours at my nephew’s soccer tournament last month, and I didn’t get that numb-butt feeling like I usually do with cheaper chairs.
To be fair, it’s a bit heavier than standard camping chairs at 14 pounds, but considering how robust it is, that’s not bad at all. It folds down to about 40 inches long, which still fits in our trunk no problem. The carrying bag has this shoulder strap that makes lugging it around from the parking lot to the campsite way easier.
The material seems really durable – it’s held up to a couple of accidental spills already, and my dog’s claws haven’t managed to tear it (which is kind of a miracle). And look, I’m not exactly gentle with my outdoor gear, but this thing still looks brand new after about a dozen uses.
If you’re someone who camps a lot or goes to lots of outdoor events, this chair is honestly worth every penny. My back is thanking me for upgrading from that $20 cheapo chair I’ve been suffering with for years!
