I finally found my beach day game-changer! The Ostrich 3-in-1 Folding Beach Lounge Chair in blue is honestly worth every penny. I’ve gone through so many beach chairs over the years, but this one’s different—trust me.
First off, it’s super comfy and way wider than my old chair at 24 inches across. I’m not exactly petite, and this chair handles my weight (I’m close to the 275 lb capacity) without any wobbling or that scary feeling like it might collapse at any moment.
What I love most is how adjustable everything is. You get 5 different positions for the back and 3 settings for the footrest. I kind of switch between them depending on if I’m reading, napping, or just people-watching. The little lumbar pillow is a nice touch too—my back doesn’t ache after a full day at the beach anymore, which is pretty amazing.
Okay, so the coolest feature has to be that face cavity thing! It sounds weird until you try it, but being able to lie face-down comfortably is a total game-changer. I can actually read my Kindle while lying on my stomach, or just relax without that awful neck strain. There are even arm holes so you can reach your drink without awkwardly twisting around. When you’re not using it, the face cavity closes up, which is nice.
The build quality is surprisingly good for a beach chair. It’s aluminum so it’s lightweight (about 10 pounds) but still feels sturdy. I’ve had it for two seasons now at our salty beach house, and there’s no rust at all. The blue fabric still looks great too—no fading or weird stains, even though my sunscreen-covered self has been all over it.
I appreciate that it sits higher off the ground (12 inches) than my old chair. To be fair, at my age, getting up from those super low beach chairs was becoming a bit embarrassing! The side storage bag is handy for sunscreen and my phone, and there’s a cup holder that’s actually deep enough that my drinks don’t spill when someone walks by.
When it’s time to head home, it folds up pretty compact—not tiny, but it fits in my trunk with plenty of room for coolers and other beach stuff. The carry strap makes it easy to lug from the car to our spot on the beach, which is like a quarter-mile walk at our local spot.
It’s a bit pricier than basic beach chairs, but honestly, the comfort difference is night and day. It’s comfier than my living room recliner in some ways! If you spend a lot of time at the beach or by the pool like we do, it’s totally worth the investment.
