Okay, I’ll rewrite this product description to sound like a personal review with natural language and subjective experiences:
So I finally bit the bullet and got this NICESOUL 2-Person Wicker Egg Chair with Ottoman in gray for our backyard, and honestly? It’s been a total game-changer for our outdoor space.
This thing is HUGE, which I wasn’t fully prepared for even after reading the dimensions (55″ wide, 40″ deep, and 78″ tall). My husband is 6’2″ and he actually fits in it comfortably, which never happens with these types of chairs! The opening is nice and wide, and we can literally both curl up in there together to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. It’s become our favorite little spot to hang out on weekend evenings.
The cushions are pretty impressive too – they’re super thick (like 6 inches!) and wrap around three sides, so you feel kind of cocooned in comfort. I was worried they’d be those cheap, flat cushions you sometimes get with outdoor furniture, but these are actually filled with high-density foam that doesn’t sink when you sit on it. We’ve had it for a few months now, and even with the crazy sun we get in our backyard, the fabric hasn’t faded at all, which was a nice surprise.
Construction-wise, this chair feels way sturdier than our previous patio furniture. The wicker doesn’t look or feel cheap – it’s that PE wicker that’s meant to look like rattan but holds up better to the elements. We’ve had some pretty heavy rainstorms and it still looks brand new. The metal frame feels really solid too. My husband was skeptical about the weight capacity (it claims 440 pounds), but we’ve both sat in it plenty of times with no issues whatsoever. Oh, and there are these little foot levelers on the back legs that came in handy since our patio isn’t perfectly even.
The ottoman that comes with it is a nice bonus – it’s big enough for both of us to prop our feet up while relaxing. Kind of funny, but we’ve actually been using it as a little table when we have drinks outside. You just take the cushion off and voila – instant side table!
Assembly wasn’t too bad, even for someone like me who usually messes up IKEA furniture. It took maybe 30-40 minutes total, and all the tools were included, which was convenient. The instructions were clear enough, and everything lined up properly, which isn’t always the case with furniture kits.
The whole set comes with a one-year warranty, though I haven’t had to use it. I emailed their support team with a question about cleaning (I spilled some wine on the cushion, oops), and they got back to me the next morning with helpful advice.
To be fair, it’s not perfect – it’s pretty heavy (99 pounds) so once you set it up, you probably won’t want to move it around much. And it does take up a decent amount of space, so it’s not ideal for smaller patios or balconies. But for our medium-sized backyard, it’s been absolutely perfect.
