GCI Outdoor Kickback Rocker Chair with Drink Holder

I’ve gotta tell you about this GCI Outdoor Kickback Rocker Chair I picked up last month. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much – just needed something for our family camping trips – but wow, this thing has been a total game-changer for my outdoor relaxation game!
So I’ve been using it for everything lately – campfires, my kid’s soccer games, even just chilling in the backyard with a beer. The carry strap is pretty handy, which I definitely appreciate since I’m usually lugging around way too much stuff already. My old camping chair was this bulky nightmare that I’d always end up dragging on the ground half the time.
The drink holder built into the armrest? Such a simple thing but kinda brilliant, you know? No more balancing my coffee on uneven ground or setting my beer in the grass. There’s also this little phone pocket that actually stays closed – unlike my previous chair where my phone would constantly slip out (learned that lesson the hard way at the beach last summer, ugh).
The back support on this thing is seriously not bad at all. I’ve got some lower back issues from an old sports injury, and I can actually sit in this for a couple hours without that familiar ache starting up. That’s pretty rare for a portable chair if I’m being honest.

Kind of made me feel smug, not gonna lie!
The frame seems pretty solid – it’s this powder-coated alloy steel that’s supposed to resist rust. Time will tell on that front, but it feels sturdier than my previous $30 special that collapsed when my brother-in-law sat in it (he’s not even that big a guy!). This one holds up to 250 pounds according to the specs.
Setting it up is super easy too – just push it open until it clicks, and you’re good to go. Folding it back up takes like 5 seconds – just pull on the frame and it collapses down. It’s lighter than it looks too – about 10.6 pounds, which is actually less than my old Coleman chair.


The mesh seat is a huge plus in summer – my last chair had this weird waterproof material that would make my legs sweat like crazy. This breathes way better. I took it fishing last week when it was like 85 degrees, and I stayed surprisingly comfortable the whole afternoon.
I’ve been using it basically everywhere – camping trips, my daughter’s soccer tournaments, fishing at the lake, even brought it to a friend’s backyard BBQ when I knew their patio furniture wouldn’t be comfortable enough for my liking. The height is just right too – not so low that my knees end up by my ears, but low enough to feel relaxed around a campfire.

It folds down small enough to fit in my already-packed trunk alongside all our camping gear, which is saying something. The polyester mesh seems pretty durable so far, though I’m careful not to leave it out in heavy rain just to be safe. A quick wipe with a damp cloth keeps it looking decent.




The lifetime warranty definitely sealed the deal for me. I’ve gone through so many cheap chairs over the years that end up in a landfill after one season. This one costs more upfront, but I’m pretty sure it’ll outlast at least 3-4 of those cheaper options, so it feels worth it in the long run. If you spend any real time outdoors, I’d say this chair is a solid investment.
