Furniture of America Kildred 2-Piece Burgundy Sofa Set

I finally took the plunge and bought this Furniture of America Kildred set after months of searching, and honestly? I’m kinda obsessed. The burgundy color is actually prettier in person than I thought it would be – it’s got this rich tone that makes my living room look way fancier than it really is!
So the set came with a sofa and loveseat, which was perfect since my last couch was literally falling apart. The wood details are what sold me – there are these intricate floral carvings that you don’t see much anymore. My mom came over yesterday and wouldn’t stop touching the armrests, lol.
Comfort-wise, it’s pretty firm but in a good way? The cushions have this high-density foam wrapped in something called Dacron (no idea what that is, but it works). It’s definitely not one of those couches you sink into and can’t get out of – it’s supportive but still comfy enough for binge-watching my shows. The springs don’t make any annoying noises either, which is a huge upgrade from my old IKEA sofa that squeaked every time someone sat down.
Size-wise, the sofa is pretty big at 94 inches long, and my loveseat is 72 inches. I was worried they might not fit through my door (apartment living problems!), but we managed. The sofa can fit three people easily – we had friends over for the game last weekend and nobody was squished. The loveseat is perfect for me and my dog, though he’s not technically supposed to be up there…
Assembly wasn’t too bad, though I definitely needed my brother’s help. It’s heavy – like 285 pounds total heavy! We just had to attach the legs and stuff. Not gonna lie, I might have skipped reading half the instructions, but we figured it out.
The burgundy fabric is this textured linen that feels nice, and the armrests are this leatherette material that’s super easy to wipe down (already tested this when I spilled my coffee, oops). For cleaning, they say to just use a damp cloth and mild soap – nothing harsh or it’ll mess up the finish.
I was kind of surprised by how sturdy these pieces are – the weight capacity is pretty impressive at 750 pounds total. Not that I’m testing that out, but it’s nice to know I could host a sumo wrestling team if I wanted to!
To be fair, it was a bit of a splurge, but it’s made in the USA and feels like it’ll last way longer than my previous furniture purchases. If you’re looking for something with a traditional vibe but not like, your grandma’s plastic-covered sofa, this is a pretty good option.
