I just got these Furmax Stackable Metal Dining Chairs in gunmetal, and honestly, they’ve been a pretty good addition to my dining area. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I ordered them online, but I was actually impressed when they showed up!
The industrial look is what caught my eye initially—I’ve been trying to update my kitchen with something a bit more modern, and these definitely fit the bill. They work great in my dining room, but I could totally see these in a café or even on someone’s patio. The gunmetal finish is kind of subtle but still makes a statement, if that makes sense.
Comfort-wise, they’re not bad at all. The seats are about 14.1 inches all around which gives you plenty of room (I’m not exactly tiny, so I appreciate that!). They sit at around 17.1 inches high, which feels just right with my table. The backrest has this slight curve to it—about 13.8 inches wide by 16.5 inches high—and it actually supports your back pretty well. I was worried they’d be uncomfortable for longer dinners, but the faux leather seat is surprisingly soft. Not like sink-into-it soft, but definitely comfier than my old wooden chairs.
One thing I really like is how these chairs seem built to last. The paint job is some kind of double electrostatic spraying thing (whatever that means, lol) but basically, they’re resistant to water, rust, and scratches. I’ve already spilled coffee on one and it wiped right off! That’s a huge plus for me since I’m planning to occasionally use them outside when I have people over for BBQs.
The sturdiness is no joke either. These things are made with alloy steel and have these X-crossed metal rods underneath that apparently help with weight distribution. Each chair is supposed to hold up to 330 pounds, which seems pretty impressive. The rubber pads on the bottom are a thoughtful touch too—my hardwood floors thank you, Furmax! They don’t make that annoying scraping sound when you pull them out either.
Storage is where these chairs really shine for me. My apartment isn’t exactly spacious, so being able to stack these when not in use is a lifesaver. They’re pretty lightweight too—around 11 pounds each—so I can easily move them around when I’m cleaning or rearranging. The whole set weighs about 44 pounds, which isn’t too bad considering you’re getting four chairs.
Assembly was straightforward enough. It took me maybe 20 minutes to put all four together while watching Netflix. The instructions were clear, and all the hardware was included, which isn’t always the case with furniture these days!
To be fair, they’re not the most padded seats in the world, so for super long dinner parties you might want a cushion if you’re the type who likes to linger at the table for hours. But for everyday use and normal meals, they do the job just fine.
Overall, for the price point, these Furmax chairs have been a pretty solid purchase. They look more expensive than they actually were, they’re practical with the whole stacking feature, and they’re holding up well to daily use. I’d definitely recommend them if you’re looking for something with a bit of industrial style that won’t break the bank.
