I finally took the plunge and got this Furmax gaming chair after my old office chair started killing my back. Honestly, I’m kicking myself for not upgrading sooner!
The ergonomic design is pretty impressive. I work from home and sometimes game for hours (probably longer than I should admit), and the headrest and lumbar support have made such a difference. My lower back doesn’t feel like it’s on fire anymore at the end of the day. It kind of cradles your spine in the right way, if that makes sense?
The chair is definitely sturdier than I expected. The PU leather feels nice—not cheap and plasticky like some other chairs I looked at. It’s super easy to wipe down too, which is great because I’m definitely guilty of eating at my desk. The base feels really solid, and it actually holds up to 300 pounds, which is reassuring. My old chair used to creak like crazy, but this one feels rock-solid.
One thing I really love is how adjustable everything is. The 360-degree swivel is smooth, and the wheels roll nicely on my carpet without getting stuck. I can lean back anywhere from 90 to 160 degrees, which is awesome for when I need to think or take a quick break between Zoom calls. The armrests adjust too, which is a feature I didn’t know I needed until I had it. And adjusting the height is super simple—I’m 5’10” and my wife’s 5’3″, and we can both get comfortable with a quick adjustment.
The quality seems legit—all the materials apparently meet some fancy standards (SGS and BIFMA, whatever those are). The padding is thick and comfy without being too soft. I was worried it might flatten out after a few weeks, but it’s held up really well so far.
Putting it together wasn’t bad at all. Took me maybe 20 minutes while half-watching Netflix. The instructions were actually decent, which was a nice surprise compared to some of the IKEA nightmares I’ve dealt with.
It’s a good size—not too bulky but definitely substantial. About 27.6″ wide and deep, and adjusts from about 48″ to 51″ high. The seat goes from around 17.7″ to 20.5″ off the floor. I’ve got a smaller home office and it fits perfectly without overwhelming the space.
I’ve been using it for everything—work during the day, gaming at night, and even just chilling and watching videos sometimes. The black color goes with pretty much anything, so it looks good in my setup.
To be fair, it’s not the fanciest gaming chair out there, but for the price, I think it’s a solid choice if you’re looking to upgrade from a basic office chair. My back definitely thanks me!
