Front Runner Expander Camping Chair (Black Portable Folding)

I’ve been hunting for a decent camping chair for ages, and honestly, I think I’ve finally found my match with the Front Runner Expander Chair. After three camping trips and countless backyard hangouts, I’m pretty impressed with how this thing performs!
So this chair is kind of amazing when it comes to portability. It folds down to literally 1/16th of its size – I was skeptical at first, but it actually works! When collapsed, it’s just 61 x 11 x 11 cm, which means it takes up way less space in my already-packed trunk than my old bulky chairs. At 4.5 kg, it’s not the lightest thing ever, but to be fair, it’s definitely manageable to carry around.
The features on this chair are actually pretty thoughtful. There’s this cup holder that, unlike my previous chair, actually holds my drinks securely (no more spilled beer, thank goodness!). I also love the little media pocket – perfect for keeping my phone safe but accessible while I’m chilling by the campfire. And the utility pocket? That’s where I stash my Kindle when I want to just relax and enjoy nature for a bit. The carry handle is sturdy enough that I don’t worry about it breaking when I’m lugging it from the car to the campsite.
What really sold me though was this patent-pending folding technology they’ve got going on. It’s honestly kind of impressive – just three steps and boom, from full chair to compact bundle. The stainless steel frame feels super solid and handles my 85 kg frame with no issues whatsoever. I’ve sat in this thing for hours during my kid’s soccer games, and the polyester seat stays comfortable way longer than those awful aluminum bleachers!
I didn’t expect to use this chair as much as I have, but it’s become my go-to for pretty much any outdoor gathering. Last weekend I brought it to a friend’s BBQ, and everyone wanted to know where I got it. It’s been perfect for beach days too, though I did notice a bit of sand gets stuck in the folding mechanism sometimes – nothing major though.
For the price, I was worried about durability, but this chair seems built to last. We got caught in an unexpected downpour during our last camping trip, and while I was rushing to save other gear, I completely forgot about the chair. Found it soaked the next morning, but after drying out, it looked and worked good as new – no rust on the frame or anything. The black polyester has held up pretty well too, despite being left in the sun quite a bit.
If you’re on the fence, it’s definitely worth checking out if you need something that’s truly portable but doesn’t sacrifice comfort. The 43 cm seat height works well for my 5’10” frame, and the 50 cm width gives enough room without feeling cramped.
