Okay, so we’re potty training at my house, and honestly it’s been kind of a nightmare until I found this Forbena seat. Let me tell you, potty training is no joke! My little guy was super resistant to the whole bathroom situation until we got this.
The first thing I noticed is how comfortable it seems for him. It’s got this soft cushion that he actually doesn’t mind sitting on (a huge win!), and there are these handles on both sides that he grips like his life depends on it, haha. What I really love though is that wide second step where he can rest his feet – it helps him relax instead of dangling uncomfortably. I was pretty surprised at how quickly he took to it after being so stubborn before.
I’ve tried a couple other potty seats before this one, and to be fair, they were all kind of disappointing. This one feels way more thought-out. The cushion is actually soft (not like that hard plastic that passes for “cushioned” on some other models), the steps are wider so my clumsy toddler doesn’t miss them, and the splash guard actually works! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to mop the bathroom floor with other seats. The anti-slip pads are pretty good too – the whole thing stays put even when my energetic 3-year-old climbs up like he’s scaling Mount Everest.
It’s holding up well so far – feels sturdy enough for my chunky monkey (he’s on the bigger side for his age) but it’s still lightweight enough that I can move it easily. The white-grey color is nice too – it doesn’t look like a eyesore in our bathroom like that bright blue monstrosity we had before.
What’s been a game-changer for us is how it’s helping him feel independent. He loves climbing up himself and sitting there like a “big boy.” He’s even started pushing it against the toilet when he’s done to store it – which is honestly the cutest thing ever. Our bathroom isn’t exactly spacious, so I appreciate that it folds up pretty compact – about 24 inches when folded versus 38 inches extended. It’s been perfect for him at 3, but it seems like it’ll grow with him for a few more years too.
I was dreading assembly (I’m terrible with instructions), but it actually wasn’t bad at all. Took me maybe 8 minutes tops, and I didn’t need any tools, which was a relief. Cleaning it is super easy too – just a quick wipe down after use. Those smooth edges don’t trap anything gross, thank goodness!
My sister’s expecting her second baby, and I’m definitely getting this for her as a baby shower gift. It works on both toilet types (we have the round one, she has elongated), and based on how much it’s helped us, I think she’ll be thanking me in about two years!

It’s been a lifesaver at home, but we’ve also taken it to Grandma’s house a couple times when staying overnight. Folds up pretty easily for transport, though not super compact for travel-travel. Still, beats starting the potty training process from scratch when we’re away from home!
