Fisher-Price On-the-Go Baby Floor Seat with Tray and Canopy

So I finally got my hands on this Fisher-Price On-the-Go Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat, and honestly, it’s been a total game-changer for us! My little guy just started holding his head up steadily, and I was desperate for somewhere to put him down that wasn’t just flat on his playmat all day.
This seat is pretty awesome for keeping him upright and engaged with what’s going on around him. He seems way happier being able to see everything instead of just staring at the ceiling! It holds babies up to 25 pounds, which is great because my little chunk is growing like a weed. Just remember though, once they start trying to climb out or walking, you’ll need to retire it.
The base is super stable – much wider than I expected actually. I was kind of worried about tipping at first (paranoid mom here!), but it’s really solid. The fabric is nice and soft too, which I appreciate since baby skin is so sensitive. And can I just say how much I love that the seat pad comes off and can go in the washing machine? Because, wow, the spit-up situations we’ve had… life-saving feature right there! There’s also this mesh panel in the back that helps with airflow, which is nice because my little guy tends to get sweaty when he sits in one place too long.
One of my favorite things about it is the little canopy top. We took it to the park last weekend, and it was perfect for keeping the sun off him – it’s got UPF 20 protection. Not as good as actual sunscreen, but definitely helpful! You can move it around depending on where the sun is coming from, which is pretty handy.
The detachable tray is another feature I didn’t think I’d use much, but turns out it’s super convenient. I’ve been putting some Cheerios and small toys on there, and he loves having his own little space. It’s made feeding time in the living room way less messy than before!
For traveling, this thing is surprisingly portable. It folds up pretty flat – we took it to grandma’s house and it barely took up any space in the trunk. It’s lightweight too, only about 5.5 pounds, so I can carry it with one arm while juggling the baby in the other (a skill all parents master eventually, right?).
Size-wise, it’s about 23.6 inches long, 19.7 inches wide, and 21.7 inches tall when it’s all set up. Not tiny, but not taking over the whole room either. It fits nicely in the corner of our living room when not in use.
The materials seem really good quality – everything’s BPA-free which I’m always looking for these days. The colors are pretty neutral too, so it doesn’t scream “BABY ITEM!!!” like some of the other gear we have that’s covered in cartoon animals and bright primary colors.
To be fair, it’s not the cheapest baby item out there, but considering how much we use it, I think it’s been worth every penny. Definitely more practical than that fancy bouncer we got that he used maybe three times!
