Okay, so I’ve been using this Fisher-Price booster seat for my little guy for about four months now, and honestly? It’s been a total game-changer for us. I was kind of struggling with mealtime before this – my toddler would slip around in regular chairs, and those restaurant high chairs are just… gross, let’s be real.
This blue booster is pretty sturdy when strapped to our dining chairs. It’s made of this thick plastic that feels way more durable than I expected for the price. No BPA stuff either, which was definitely important to me. I’m a bit paranoid about that kind of thing these days!
The absolute best part? The tray goes right in the dishwasher! Like, actually IN the dishwasher, not just “dishwasher safe” but then gets all warped and weird like some other baby products I’ve bought (looking at you, sippy cups). And it comes with this snap-on lid thing that keeps it clean when we’re out. We visited my parents last weekend and I just popped the lid on and tossed it in the diaper bag – so much better than wrapping it in paper towels like I used to do.
You can adjust the height three different ways, which is nice because our kitchen table is weirdly tall compared to our dining table. The straps are pretty easy to figure out too – there are front and back ones to keep it secure on different chairs. To be fair, it took me a couple tries to get them tight enough the first time, but now I can do it in like 10 seconds.
When we go out to eat (well, when we brave restaurants with a toddler, lol), it folds up surprisingly compact. There’s this little carry strap that’s not bad at all for throwing over your shoulder. Definitely beats those wooden restaurant high chairs that seem like they haven’t been cleaned since 1995!
As my little guy’s getting bigger, I’m starting to take the tray off sometimes and just push him up to the table like a “big boy” which he’s pretty proud of. It works with kids up to 50 pounds, so we should get a ton of use out of it.
Some quick specs if you’re curious: It’s about 15.5″ long, 19″ wide, and 13″ high when it’s set up, and folds down to about 7″ high. Weighs around 4.5 pounds – lighter than my diaper bag for sure! Works for babies from about 6 months (whenever they can sit up on their own) to like 3 years or so.
The cleaning is super simple – tray goes in dishwasher as I mentioned, and the seat part I just wipe down with a wet cloth. It gets pretty messy under the seat sometimes (why do toddlers think throwing food is hilarious?), but it’s easy enough to clean.
If you’re looking for something portable that you can actually clean properly, this has been worth every penny for us!
