I honestly never thought I’d get so excited about a baby rocker, but this Fisher-Price Floral Confetti one has been a total game-changer for us! We’ve been using it for about 6 months now, and it’s pretty much the best purchase I’ve made since becoming a parent.
So when we first got it, my little one was only 2 months old, and finding places to safely put her down was kind of a struggle. This rocker has been perfect because it can recline in different positions depending on what we need. During those early days, I’d recline it back pretty far when she was sleepy, and now that she’s sitting up more, we use it more upright.
The vibration feature is actually really handy – you just need a D battery (which isn’t included, by the way – kind of annoying when you first get it home and realize that!). My daughter went through this fussy period around 3 months, and the vibration would calm her down almost instantly. Not going to lie, there were days that feature saved my sanity!
What I love most is how versatile this thing is. The toy bar is cute with those little dangly toys she can bat at – she was absolutely fascinated by them around 4 months. But now that she’s bigger, we’ve taken the toy bar off completely, and it’s basically her little chair for snack time or when she wants to chill and watch me cook dinner.
The kickstand thing that turns it from a rocker to a stationary seat is genius for feeding time. Before I figured that out, she’d be rocking while trying to take her bottle, which, to be fair, wasn’t working out great for either of us!
The floral pattern is actually cuter in person than in the pictures. We have a pretty gender-neutral nursery, and it fits in perfectly. And thank goodness the cover is machine washable because, well, babies are messy! I’ve had to wash it twice already after some spectacular spit-up incidents, and it’s held up really well.
It feels sturdy but isn’t super heavy – maybe like 6 or 7 pounds? I can easily move it from room to room one-handed while holding the baby in the other arm, which is basically a requirement for any baby product in my book.
My daughter is now around 18 pounds, and there’s still plenty of growing room. The fact that it’ll work all the way up to 40 pounds means we’ll be using this for ages. Honestly, it’s been way more useful than our swing, which was three times the price and she outgrew in like 5 minutes.
The three-point harness is secure enough that I’m not worried about her trying to climb out, which she’s been attempting with everything lately. The non-slip feet are also a nice touch – our floors are pretty slippery, but the rocker stays put.
If you’re on the fence about getting one of these, just do it. It’s not as expensive as some of the fancy baby gear out there, but it’s been one of our most-used items by far. My sister-in-law has a different brand, and this one is definitely comfier and more versatile.
