I just got this orange mesh office chair with a built-in desk, and honestly, it’s been a pretty good addition to my small apartment. I’ve been working from home a lot lately and needed something that wouldn’t take up too much space but still gave me a decent spot to work.
So this chair is kind of a 2-in-1 deal – it’s got this folding writing board attached to it which is super convenient. The orange color is actually brighter in person than I expected (not a bad thing, just different from the pictures). I was a bit worried about the mesh seat being uncomfortable, but to be fair, it’s actually more breathable than my old fabric office chair, which is a huge plus when I’m sitting for hours.
The writing board is honestly bigger than I thought it would be – around 18 inches by 12 inches – which is plenty of room for my laptop or a notebook. It even has this little cup holder thing built in, which I didn’t realize would be so useful until I started using it! No more accidental coffee spills while I’m working.
What I really like is that the whole thing folds up pretty flat – like only 4 inches deep when folded – so I can just slide it behind my door when my friends come over. It’s made with this alloy steel frame that feels pretty sturdy. I weigh about 200 pounds and it handles my weight without any issues, though the specs say it can hold up to 250.
The seat height is about 17.5 inches from the floor, which works fine for my height (I’m 5’8″). The cushion isn’t like, super plush or anything, but it’s comfortable enough for a few hours of work. The mesh definitely helps when the apartment gets warm.
I’ve been using it mostly for work, but it’s also come in handy when I’m eating dinner and watching Netflix. The board is strong enough to hold a plate and some snacks. I wouldn’t put anything super heavy on it though – the manual says it can hold about 15 pounds.
Setup was pretty straightforward – it came fully assembled, which was a nice surprise! At about 13 pounds, it’s light enough that I can move it around the apartment easily.
One thing to note – the measurements in the listing were pretty accurate, but the orange color is a bit brighter in real life than in the photos. Not a deal-breaker for me, but worth mentioning if you’re picky about exact color matching.
