I finally caved and upgraded my gaming chair—honestly, the best decision I’ve made for my back in years!
So I got this Luckracer Gaming Chair in grey, and wow, it’s actually pretty legit. As someone who spends way too many hours playing Valorant (and, you know, occasionally working from home), I needed something that wouldn’t leave me feeling like a 90-year-old after marathon sessions.
The first thing I noticed was how sturdy this thing is. It’s rated for 350 pounds, which is more than the 300 they advertise? Kind of weird but I’m not complaining about extra durability. The frame is made from some heavy-duty alloy steel—you can feel the difference compared to those flimsy chairs at my old office.
The seat cushion is massive—almost 21 inches long by 14.5 inches wide—and honestly, I’m a big fan of the high-density foam. My old chair would flatten out after a couple hours, but this one keeps its shape even when I’m locked in for an all-nighter. The PU leather isn’t real leather obviously, but it’s surprisingly breathable and super easy to wipe down (learned that the hard way after spilling coffee, oops).
The ergonomic features are where this chair really shines though. It comes with this adjustable lumbar pillow that you can move around to hit that sweet spot on your lower back. The headrest pillow is actually useful too—way thicker than my old one that was basically just for show. I was kinda skeptical about the “linkage armrests” they advertised, but they actually do move with the chair when you recline, which is pretty sweet for when I’m leaning back watching YouTube between matches.
Speaking of reclining—this thing goes back to 155 degrees! I’m not gonna lie, I’ve definitely taken a couple power naps in it already. The footrest pulls out super smoothly too. To be fair, I wasn’t sure I’d use that feature much, but it’s become my favorite part for when I’m watching Netflix or just chilling.
Height-wise, I’m 5’11” and it fits me perfectly. The chair adjusts from about 17.5 to 21.5 inches off the ground, which should work for most people between 5’2″ and 6’2″ according to the specs.
Assembly wasn’t as bad as I expected—took me maybe 25 minutes following the instructions. The wheels roll really smoothly on my hardwood floor without scratching it up, which my landlord would definitely appreciate if they knew how much I scoot around during the day.
The grey color actually looks better in person than in the photos. It fits with pretty much any setup, though I was torn between this and the black version. I feel like this one shows less dust though, which is a win for someone who doesn’t clean as often as they should (guilty).
