I’ve been on the hunt for a new dining table for months now, and honestly, I think I’ve finally found “the one” with this DUHOME 47.2″ black rectangular table. When it arrived last week, I was pretty excited to set it up in my small apartment dining area.
The modern farmhouse vibe is exactly what I was going for! The solid wood construction feels way more substantial than those particle board tables I’ve had in the past. I really love how they did this wirebrush treatment on the black finish – it kind of lets you see the natural wood grain underneath, which adds some nice texture. The edges are gently curved too, which is a small detail but it definitely makes it look more expensive than it was.
Assembly wasn’t too bad – took me and my roommate maybe 40 minutes tops. All the hardware was there (thank goodness, because I always seem to be missing something), and the instructions were pretty clear. It’s not super heavy either – around 45 pounds I think? – so we could move it around to find the perfect spot.
Size-wise, it’s perfect for my space at 47.2″ x 30″. I can comfortably fit 4 people around it, though it’s usually just me and maybe one other person most nights. The height (30″) feels just right – not too tall or short when you’re sitting at it. I was a bit worried about the weight capacity since my last table was pretty flimsy, but this one seems really solid and can apparently hold up to 250 pounds.
To be fair, I’ve only had it for a week, but so far it’s holding up great with daily use. I work from home sometimes, so it doubles as my workspace during the day. The black color goes with pretty much everything in my apartment, which is a huge plus. It’s definitely comfier to work at than my old wobbly IKEA table!
I spilled coffee on it yesterday (typical me) and it wiped right off – the finish seems pretty resistant to stains which is a relief. The legs have this cross-bracing underneath that makes it super stable – no more wobbling when I’m typing!
I’m actually thinking about getting the matching chairs they have on their store page. For now, I’m using some mixed chairs I already had, and they look surprisingly good with it. The traditional style is versatile enough that it works with different decor pieces.
