I’ve been absolutely loving this double folding director’s loveseat I picked up last month! Honestly, it’s been a game-changer for our camping trips and backyard hangouts. It folds down to about the size of a briefcase (around 35 x 22 x 5 inches when packed up) which is pretty convenient for tossing in the trunk. The whole thing only weighs like 9.5 pounds too, so I can actually carry it myself without my husband’s help for once!
One of the best features has to be that built-in side table. It’s not huge or anything—about 12 x 10 inches—but it’s perfect for setting down your phone, some snacks, or whatever. There’s even this little drink holder built right in, which is super handy when you’re trying to juggle everything at a tailgate. No more balancing your beer on uneven ground!
The backrest is surprisingly comfortable for a portable chair. They use this 3D air foam mesh thing that’s actually really breathable, which was a lifesaver during that hot festival we went to last weekend. I think the backrest is around 18 inches high, which gives decent support for my lower back (mine’s been kind of sensitive lately after that gardening mishap).
I was kind of skeptical about how sturdy it would be, to be fair. But this thing is built pretty solid! The frame is made from some type of alloy steel that’s supposed to resist corrosion. Each seat can apparently hold up to 300 pounds—so 600 pounds total—which is more than enough for me and my husband. It feels way more stable than those cheap fold-up chairs we used to bring to my son’s soccer games.
We’ve been using it everywhere—took it camping at Lake Powell, had it out for a few backyard BBQs, and even brought it to my nephew’s baseball tournament. The seats are about 20 inches wide and 16 deep, which gives you enough room to actually get comfortable, unlike some of those tiny camping chairs that make you feel like you’re perched on a toddler’s furniture!
The materials seem pretty durable so far. Everything’s held up well to being thrown around in the car and set up on different surfaces. The fabric is some kind of polyester mesh that dries quickly, which was great when we got caught in that surprise shower at the park. And setting it up is super simple—just unfolds in seconds with no tools or complicated instructions. There’s a handle built in and it comes with a carrying bag too.
Not to sound like I’m selling the thing, but it’s honestly been worth every penny for us. It’s definitely comfier than those old webbed lawn chairs we used to drag around! Just having that side table makes such a difference when you’re trying to eat outdoors.
