Okay so I finally caved and bought this JEEOHEY oversized chaise lounge after weeks of searching for the perfect reading spot in my apartment. Let me tell you – this thing is honestly life-changing! I’ve had it for about a month now and I’m kinda obsessed.
First off, the corduroy fabric is super soft—way more comfortable than I expected. It feels really nice against your skin, which matters when you’re binge-watching Netflix for, um, longer than I’d like to admit! The cushioning is pretty impressive too. It’s got this high-density foam with some spring pack reinforcement thing going on underneath, which basically means it doesn’t sink in like my old couch did after sitting for a while. The seat is really deep at 42 inches, which is perfect for my 5’8″ frame. I can fully stretch out or curl up depending on my mood.
The pillows that come with it are actually useful, not just decorative like most furniture these days. There’s a back pillow and two smaller ones that I can move around depending on whether I’m reading, working on my laptop, or just scrolling through TikTok. The ottoman is probably my favorite part though—it’s massive (21″ x 43.3″) and matches perfectly. To be fair, I wasn’t sure if I’d use it much, but now I find myself propping my feet up all the time. My legs used to get so tired after a long day at work!
As for sturdiness, no complaints so far. The frame is solid wood and it doesn’t creak or wobble when I flop down on it (which I do… often). It claims to hold up to 350 pounds, which seems pretty believable. My boyfriend who’s on the larger side sat on it with me and it felt totally stable. I’ve even taken a few accidental naps on this thing—it’s honestly comfier than my old futon was.
Style-wise, it fits pretty well with my somewhat minimalist apartment vibe. I got the beige color which goes with pretty much everything. It’s way more elegant-looking than the price would suggest. My mom actually thought I spent way more on it when she came over last weekend!
Setting it up wasn’t bad at all. Took me and my roommate maybe 45 minutes? The instructions were clear enough and all the pieces were there, which is not always a given with furniture these days! Size-wise, it’s big enough to be comfortable (55.1″ x 43.3″) but not so huge that it dominates my modestly-sized living room.
One thing I didn’t expect is how versatile it is. I’ve used it as a reading nook, a spot for working from home, and even as extra sleeping space when my sister visited. The corduroy is actually pretty easy to clean too—I already had to wipe up some spilled coffee and it came right off with a damp cloth.
