I honestly never thought I’d be this excited about a couch support board, but here I am! After my 3-year-old sofa started sinking in the middle (ugh, so annoying), I decided to try this VERONLY support board instead of dropping a fortune on a new couch.
Let me tell you, this thing is pretty solid – like, literally. It’s made with this thick MDF board (0.4 inches) that feels way sturdier than I expected. I was kind of worried it might bend when my brother-in-law (who’s not exactly lightweight) sat on it during movie night, but it held up perfectly. Definitely feels more substantial than the flimsy piece of plywood I almost bought at the hardware store.
The board comes covered in this black Oxford fabric that’s actually not bad at all. It’s sort of like a nicer version of that durable material they use for backpacks? It cleans up super easily too – my kid spilled juice on it the other day, and I just wiped it with a damp cloth, no problem. The fabric seems pretty tough, and I’ve had it for a couple months now with no signs of wear.
What I really appreciate is that they rounded off all the corners. My last sofa got these weird snags from a DIY fix I tried, but this board has smooth edges that don’t catch on the upholstery. Smart thinking there!
Size-wise, the 17″ x 66″ fit my standard three-seater perfectly. It’s foldable too, which is handy since I’m honestly not sure if I’ll need to store it (I’m not taking it out anytime soon because it works so well). It’s surprisingly lightweight – around 5 pounds – which made it super easy to install. Just lifted my cushions, slid it underneath, and boom – fixed couch!
The best part? I paid less than $50 for this instead of the $1000+ for a new sofa. Talk about a no-brainer! The difference in comfort is night and day. Before, sitting on my couch felt like being slowly swallowed by quicksand. Now it’s firm but still comfy, kind of like when the couch was new. My back definitely thanks me after binge-watching sessions.
I went with the standard size, but they do offer other options if you have a bigger sectional. You might need two for those massive couches, but for my regular sofa, one works perfectly. Installation couldn’t be easier – there’s literally nothing to assemble. Just unfold and place.
To be fair, it’s not exactly the same as having a brand new couch, but it’s about 90% of the way there for a fraction of the cost. I’m actually thinking about getting another one for this old loveseat we have in the guest room!
