I just got this COSCO retro chair in teal, and honestly, it’s been such a game-changer in my kitchen! The coolest thing about it is definitely how the seat flips up to turn into a step stool. Like, I’m always reaching for stuff in my upper cabinets, and before I’d drag over whatever chair was closest (not the safest idea, I know).
The height is perfect for my counter – it’s kind of that in-between height that works great as extra seating when my sister drops by for coffee, but then transforms into a step stool when I need to grab something from the top shelf. Pretty convenient!
I’m a sucker for anything retro, and this teal color with the steel frame is giving me serious 50s diner vibes. It’s actually prettier in person than I expected! The vinyl upholstery has this nostalgic feel but is way more practical than my fabric dining chairs – I spilled coffee on it yesterday and just wiped it clean in seconds. No big deal at all.
I was worried it might scratch up my floors (learned that lesson the hard way with my last bar stools), but the leg tips are super gentle on my hardwood. To be fair, I’ve only had it for a couple weeks, but so far, not a single mark!

The whole 1950’s vibe really works in my kitchen – I’ve been slowly collecting pieces with that mid-century feel, and this chair fits right in. The cushioned seat is comfortable enough for sitting a while (not like those hard metal stools I used to have, thank goodness).
The flip-up mechanism works smoothly too – no sticking or weird noises when you convert it. I’m not the tallest person, so having this around has been kind of life-changing for reaching my upper cabinets without having to ask my boyfriend for help every five minutes.
If you’re into the retro look, they have other pieces in this COSCO Stylaire Collection that match. I’m actually thinking about getting another one for the other side of my counter since this one worked out so well.
