COSCO All-Steel Folding Chair, 4-Pack, Gray

So I finally bit the bullet and grabbed these COSCO folding chairs in gray, and honestly? They’re pretty much exactly what I needed. I’ve been hosting these monthly game nights at my place, and I was always scrambling to find enough seating—borrowing chairs from neighbors gets old fast, trust me.
These chairs are actually way sturdier than I expected for the price. They’re all-steel (not that cheap plastic-y stuff that creaks when you sit on it), and they hold up to 250 pounds, which is good because my buddy Mike is, well, let’s just say he enjoys my cooking a little too much! The gray finish looks nicer than those standard beige metal chairs everyone’s grandma had in the 80s. They kind of blend right in with my somewhat industrial apartment vibe.
The seats are decent sized—about 15.7 inches square—and while I wouldn’t call them the most comfortable things I’ve ever sat on (they’re still metal folding chairs after all), they’re definitely better than my old wooden dining chairs for those marathon Monopoly sessions. The back has this slight contour to it that helps a bit with posture, which I noticed after sitting for a couple hours.
What I really love, though, is how they fold up. Like, they get super flat—only about 2.75 inches wide when folded—so I can literally slide all four behind my coat rack in the hallway. They’re surprisingly light too, just over 7 pounds each, so I can grab a couple under each arm to bring out to the patio when we have a BBQ.
Oh, and they’ve got these little caps on the feet that don’t scratch up my hardwood floors, which my landlord would definitely appreciate if he knew how often I was dragging furniture around, haha.
I’ve used them for a dinner party, as extra seating when my parents visited (Dad approved, which is saying something), and even took them to my cousin’s graduation picnic. They clean up pretty easily too—just wiped them down after someone spilled sangria all over one and it was good as new.
For the specs people: they’re about 18.5″ wide, 30.5″ high when open, and they fold to about 36″ high. They come with a 1-year warranty, which is nice I guess, but they feel like they’ll last way longer than that.
All in all, if you need some extra chairs that won’t take up your entire closet or break the bank, these are a solid choice. Not life-changing or anything, but definitely a practical purchase I don’t regret.
