So I finally got myself this linen armchair after weeks of hunting for something to fill that awkward corner in my living room, and honestly? It’s been pretty great so far.
When I first unpacked it, I was kinda worried the color wouldn’t match my existing stuff, but the neutral tone actually works with pretty much everything. That’s a huge relief because redecorating wasn’t in the budget this month!
The chair itself is surprisingly sturdy – it’s got this solid rubberwood frame that doesn’t wobble at all when I flop into it after a long day. And believe me, I’ve been putting that 275-pound weight capacity to the test (especially after holiday season, if you know what I mean).
The linen fabric feels really nice against your skin – way better than my old pleather chair that would get all sticky in summer. It’s got this breathable quality to it that just feels… I don’t know… kind of premium? Not bad at all for something that didn’t completely break the bank.
One thing I wasn’t expecting to love was that double nailhead trim detail. It sounds like a small thing, but it actually makes the chair look way more expensive than it is. My sister-in-law actually asked if I’d splurged at West Elm or something, which was pretty satisfying!
The cushion is pretty comfy too. It’s filled with high-density foam that’s firm but not too hard – I’ve spent hours reading in this chair without getting that achy back feeling I used to get with my old IKEA armchair. The seat cushion comes off too, which makes cleaning up after my cat’s inevitable hair explosions so much easier.
To be fair, I was nervous about assembly since I’m terrible with instructions, but it wasn’t bad at all. Took maybe 20 minutes, and I only threatened to throw the allen wrench out the window once, which is a personal record.
Size-wise, it’s perfect for my small apartment at around 33″ high and 27″ wide. It doesn’t swallow up my limited space like I feared it might. The seat sits about 17″ off the ground, which works pretty well for my height (I’m 5’6″).
Is it the most luxurious chair ever? No, but for something made in China that costs what it does, I’m genuinely impressed with how it’s holding up. The black legs match my coffee table, and the whole thing just looks way more put-together than I usually manage with my decorating attempts.
