So I finally got my hands on this COLAMY yellow accent chair last week, and honestly? It’s been pretty great for my small apartment. I’ve been looking for something to brighten up that empty corner in my living room for ages, and this chair kind of just checked all the boxes.
First off, the ergonomic design is no joke. I work from home sometimes, and the padded armrests are a godsend for those long Zoom calls where my shoulders get all tense. The backrest has this slight curve to it that actually follows your spine—something I didn’t really think about when ordering but definitely notice now. The sherpa fabric? Super soft. Reminds me of that cozy blanket my mom got me last Christmas. Oh, and it comes with this little lumbar pillow which, to be fair, I was skeptical about at first but now can’t imagine sitting without.
The cushion itself is way more supportive than my old IKEA chair. I was worried it might get that weird sinking feeling after a couple days (you know what I mean?), but the foam is pretty firm. Not like, uncomfortably firm, but firm enough that I don’t feel like I’m being swallowed when I sit for a few hours binging Netflix. And let’s talk about the color—that bright yellow is such a mood booster! My place tends to be kind of neutral, so this adds that perfect pop without being too in-your-face.
Construction-wise, it feels pretty solid. The wooden frame doesn’t creak or wobble when I flop down after a long day (and trust me, I’m not always gentle!). The rubberwood legs are sturdier than they look in the pictures, and they’ve got these little anti-skid pads that keep my hardwood floors scratch-free—a detail I didn’t expect but definitely appreciate.
Size-wise, it’s perfect for my limited space. I was torn between getting a full-sized armchair or something smaller, and I’m glad I went with this. It’s compact enough to fit in that awkward corner by my window but still comfy enough that my friend Kelly claimed it as “her spot” when she came over for wine night last Friday.
Setting it up wasn’t bad at all. Took me maybe 25 minutes tops, and I’m terrible with assembly stuff. Everything came in one box with all the tools included, which was a pleasant surprise since I’m constantly misplacing my Allen wrenches.
The only thing I’m a bit worried about is keeping that yellow fabric clean—I already had a close call with some red wine! But it wiped up pretty easily with a damp cloth, so hopefully that’s a good sign for the future.
For the specs crowd: it’s about 27.5″ wide, 31.5″ deep, and 33.5″ high, with the seat about 18.5″ off the ground. Not too big, not too small. It can supposedly hold up to 300 lbs, which seems pretty impressive for such a dainty-looking chair.
All in all, if you’re looking for something to jazz up a small space and need something comfortable enough for actual daily use (not just one of those “pretty but don’t sit on it” pieces), this chair is pretty much perfect. It’s actually become my go-to spot for morning coffee and scrolling through my phone—definitely getting my money’s worth so far!
