Clutch Chairz Throttle Series Ergonomic Gaming and Office Chair with Lumbar Pillow, Black
So I finally bit the bullet and upgraded my home office setup with this Clutch Chairz Throttle Series, and honestly? Best decision I’ve made for my poor back in ages. I’ve been working from home for like two years now, and my old chair was doing me absolutely zero favors.
First thing I noticed when I unpacked this beast – it’s pretty hefty at nearly 64 pounds! Took me a minute to get it assembled, but nothing too complicated. The instructions were actually kind of helpful, which was a nice surprise compared to most furniture I’ve put together.
The reclining feature is probably my favorite thing about this chair. You can adjust it anywhere from 85 to 135 degrees, which is perfect because I tend to sit up straight when I’m working but like to lean back a bit when I’m on calls. There’s this swivel-tilt mechanism that lets you rock a little (about 12 degrees) when you’re feeling fidgety, or you can lock it in place if you’re trying to focus.
The chair comes with these free cushions that I wasn’t expecting to be that great, but they’re actually really nice. The lumbar pillow is way more supportive than the one on my old chair – it actually fits against my lower back properly instead of just being this random blob. And the headrest is pretty comfy for when I’m taking a break and leaning all the way back.
One thing that really sold me was the foam quality. I don’t know much about foam types, but this “cold-cured high-density” stuff they use definitely feels premium. I’ve had chairs before where the seat basically flattened out after a few months, but this one still feels firm even though I’ve been using it daily for weeks now.
The base is super sturdy – apparently tested to support over 2000 pounds, which is kind of overkill but whatever, I’m not complaining! It has these color-coded chevrons that add a little style without being too “gamer-y” looking. I work in finance so I didn’t want anything too flashy, and this hits that sweet spot.
Oh, and the wheels! They roll so smoothly on my hardwood floors and don’t leave any marks, which my landlord would definitely appreciate. My last chair left these weird black streaks that were a pain to clean up.
Size-wise, it fits my space pretty well. The dimensions are roughly 28×28 inches for the base, and the height adjusts from like 18 to 22 inches, which works for my desk height. I’m about 5’10” and it feels perfectly sized for me.
The only slight downside is that it’s definitely not a lightweight chair if you need to move it around a lot. But then again, I’d rather have something solid that’s not going to break when I flop into it after a long day.
For anyone spending hours at their desk, whether you’re gaming, working, or both, your body will thank you for this upgrade. My lower back pain has honestly improved a ton since switching to this chair. It’s not cheap, but when I think about how many hours of my life I spend sitting, it’s pretty worth it.
