So we just got the Chicco Bunny Booster Seat for our little one, and honestly, I’m kind of impressed with how versatile this thing is! It’s been growing with our daughter from when she was about 6 months, and we’re still using it now that she’s almost 2.
What I really love about this booster is that you can adjust the height in four different ways – anywhere from like 2 to 6 inches. That’s been super helpful because our dining table is pretty tall, but my parents’ table is lower, so it works pretty much everywhere we take it.
The seat actually does double duty – we started using it as a booster attached to our kitchen chairs when our daughter was around 6 months, but now we sometimes just put it on the floor as her own little chair. It’s supposed to work until she’s about 3 or hits 50 pounds, which seems like we’ll definitely get our money’s worth!
Comfort-wise, it’s pretty good! The padding is soft but not too squishy, if that makes sense? And thank goodness the cover comes off for washing because, wow, toddler mealtimes are no joke in the mess department! I’ve thrown it in the wash a few times already and it’s holding up fine.
Safety features are decent too – it’s got those straps to attach to the adult chair (which, to be fair, are a bit fiddly sometimes but do the job) and a 3-point harness for the kiddo. We’ve actually stopped using the harness recently since she’s older and pretty stable sitting now.
The tray is probably my favorite part – it’s easy to take off when I need to clean it (which is basically after EVERY meal), and it’s a good size for her little plates and snacks. About 12 x 8 inches, so there’s enough room for food and maybe a small toy to keep her entertained.
One thing I didn’t expect to appreciate so much was how portable it is! When folded up, it’s only like 15 x 13 x 5 inches and weighs less than 5 pounds. Way lighter than our previous high chair which felt like moving furniture every time we wanted to take it somewhere. We’ve taken this to restaurants a few times when we weren’t sure if they’d have high chairs, and the built-in handle makes it super convenient to carry.
Setting it up was pretty straightforward – nothing like those nightmare assembly experiences I’ve had with other baby gear! And keeping it clean isn’t too bad either. The surfaces wipe down easily, which is absolutely essential with a messy eater like mine!
I’m actually quite fond of the bunny design too – it’s cute without being over-the-top babyish, so it doesn’t look totally out of place in our dining room. The neutral colors go with pretty much everything.
It’s been really nice having her join us at the table for family meals instead of being off in a separate high chair. And when we visit my in-laws (who somehow have zero kid-friendly seating), this thing is a lifesaver.
For the materials, it feels sturdier than I expected for something so lightweight. The frame is some kind of hard plastic that’s held up well to daily use for months now. No worries about harmful chemicals either – everything’s BPA-free and meets all those safety standards you worry about as a parent.
All in all, it’s been a solid purchase that’s made mealtime a lot easier. Definitely comfier and more practical than the clunky high chair we had before!
