So I recently upgraded my home office with the Branch Ergonomic Chair, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much different from my old office chair, but wow, what a game-changer! I’ve been WFH part-time lately, and my back was killing me from that cheap chair I grabbed during the pandemic.
This Branch chair is pretty impressive, not gonna lie. It’s one of those companies that started online but now they’re on Amazon too, which made ordering super convenient. They’re all about creating workspaces where you can actually feel good while working, and I think they nailed it with this model.
The adjustability is probably my favorite part. You can tweak just about everything on this thing! The seat height goes from like 17 to 21 inches (way more range than my old chair), and you can slide the seat forward or back about 2 inches. I’m kind of tall-ish, so having that extra thigh support makes a huge difference during those marathon Zoom meetings.
I was a bit skeptical about the “ergonomic design” marketing—everyone claims that these days, right?—but to be fair, this chair actually delivers. The lumbar support moves with you and feels really natural against your spine. I can recline back to about 120 degrees when I need to stretch, and the tension control lets me adjust how easy it is to lean back. The armrests are honestly better than expected—they move up, down, in, out, and even angle differently. My old chair’s armrests were fixed and constantly hit my desk, which drove me crazy!
Style-wise, it’s definitely sleeker than those bulky executive chairs. I went with the black finish which fits my minimalist home office vibe. It doesn’t take up too much space either (about 25×24 inches), which is good since my office is basically a converted closet, lol.
The mesh material is a total lifesaver. My previous chair had this faux leather that made me sweat like crazy in the summer, but this breathable mesh keeps things cool even when I’m working through the afternoon. It feels sturdy too—supposedly supports up to 300 pounds. The seat cushion has this high-density foam that’s firm but not uncomfortable. It’s like that perfect middle ground between too soft and too hard.
Assembly took me maybe 8 minutes? Almost everything was pre-assembled, and the instructions were actually clear for once. The aluminum frame feels way more premium than the plastic chairs I’ve had before.
Oh, and it comes with a 5-year warranty, which is pretty reassuring considering I’ve burned through cheaper chairs in less than a year.
One thing I didn’t realize until I started using it is how quiet the wheels are on my hardwood floor—no more sounding like a freight train rolling around during calls!
It’s definitely pricier than budget options, but compared to those $1000+ Herman Miller chairs my office has, it’s a bargain for similar quality. I’d say it’s probably the best investment I’ve made for my home workspace this year.
