I’ve been using the Boon GRUB high chair for my little one for about 6 months now, and honestly, it’s been a total game-changer in our household. What I love most about it is how it actually grows with your kid – it’s good from 6 months all the way up to 6 years old, which is pretty impressive if you ask me. My daughter’s just turned one, and I’m already seeing the value in having something that’ll last us for years rather than those cheap high chairs that fall apart after a few months.
The adjustability is what really sold me. There are like 6 different height positions, so whether we’re eating at our counter (which is pretty tall) or at the dining table, I can get her at just the right level. The footrest adjusts too, which I didn’t think would matter much, but it actually makes a huge difference in keeping her comfortable during meals. She seems way happier sitting in it compared to her cousin’s basic high chair.
Cleaning this thing is SO much easier than I expected. I was kind of dreading the whole high chair mess situation (if you know, you know), but the entire seat pops off and goes straight into the dishwasher! Like, who thought of that? Genius. The tray is dishwasher-safe too, and it doesn’t have all those annoying little crevices where food gets stuck forever. The seat pad is machine washable and stays put pretty well – though sometimes I have to readjust it after washing.
There’s this little hook on the back that’s perfect for hanging bibs. It’s not a major feature or anything, but it’s one of those small things that makes life a bit easier, you know? No more hunting around for clean bibs when she’s already in the chair and getting impatient.
The best part might be that this converts to a toddler chair later on. My sister-in-law has been through like three different seats for her kid who’s now 4, and I’m pretty sure I’ll still be using this one. It holds up to 50 pounds, which is way more than enough.
The chair itself is pretty solid at about 18.5 pounds, and the dimensions (22.5″ x 22.5″ x 33.5″–39″) fit well in our not-so-spacious dining area. I went with the white color because it matches our kitchen, and it’s actually held up really well to spaghetti night disasters.
It’s definitely not the cheapest option out there – I actually hesitated before buying it – but considering how long it’ll last and how much easier it’s made mealtime, I think it’s worth every penny. It’s honestly made family dinners so much more enjoyable since we’re not constantly cleaning up or adjusting an uncomfortable chair. If you’re on the fence, just go for it. Your future self will thank you!
